    Hot Toys MMS 692 + 693 BATMAN (1989) 1/6 scale Batman 2.0

Either that is some bizarre factory mistake or that person is a troll, because the cowl texture looks nothing like that in hand.

One of the things they talk about in art school is that when you reproduce something, especially a person, you have to remove details as you scale down. A true 1:1 representation at a smaller scale often just looks wrong. Whether it is a drawing, or a painting or a sculpture. Art is about...

    Hot Toys MMS 692 + 693 BATMAN (1989) 1/6 scale Batman 2.0

This is definitely much better than his previous version. But I am honestly incredibly happy with the stock 2.0. I have a replacement cape coming, but the wired Hot Toys one is not near as bad as I thought it would be.

    Hot Toys MMS 692 + 693 BATMAN (1989) 1/6 scale Batman 2.0

Color is complicated. I am looking at the figure in front of me right now in natural light and the belt is pretty much the same color as in these promotional photos. I colored my photo in the previous post to have a cinematic look to it, to better match the movie. Color grading and older film...

All those overly lit review videos are so wild, because the figure literally looks nothing like that in hand.

Got mine today. The toothy faceplate is terrible and I have no idea why they even included it, but the other two plates are good. Overall I really like it a lot. The texture on the suit is more subtle and far less glossy and noticeable than in almost every photo I have seen.

HOT TOYS QS 1/4 Darth Vader (pic courtesy Seanxlong)

I got this guy on sale from Sideshow for a really good deal, and have never regretted it as an impulse purchase. I just wish they would release that 1/4 Stormtrooper or give us a 1/4 Luke.

Hot Toys Sandtrooper and Dewback 1/6

This is how is used to be before The Force Awakens and all the Marvel movies really blew up. Hot Toys and Sideshow decided to open up pre-orders indefinitely, and what happened was tons and tons of people ordered and then canceled at the last minute, leaving Sideshow sitting on tons of stock...

I am also increasingly thinking that adding texture to the cowl and suit was a purposeful artistic decision to make it more visually interesting. Notice how the light reflects off the Hot Toys cowl versus the Unreal version. By adding surface texture, even if it's not 100% screen accurate, it...

It's a nice sculpt, but I see 0% Keaton in it. And I honestly prefer the HT 2.0.

    InArt: 1/6 Superman (Cavill)

It most likely depends on the media that the merchandise is base on. Every lunchbox, or tshirt with the comic book Superman should have the exact same shade of red and blue. Every piece of My Adventures with Superman should have the same red and blue. But that red and blue might be slightly...

    InArt: 1/6 Superman (Cavill)

No, what I am saying is that Warner Bros is most likely dictating the color based off of the actual prop suit. Superman is part of DC/Warner Bros brand, an they are incredibly protective of that stuff. The colors of Superman's suit in marketing and branding is a specific set color that every...

    InArt: 1/6 Superman (Cavill)

The issue with matching the "film look" is that there is no definitive color to match. This is the issue with tons of Hot Toys movie figures; they are given reference from the studios that are of the actual suits and props, not the color graded film version. And those color graded shots are...

Oh geeze no. Only the first batch has gone out. There will probably be three more waves of shipments.

I don't know the actual numbers, but I would have to imagine that Asian sales far far far outnumber U.S. sales.

    1/6 Hot Toys MMS699 & MMS700 ROTJ Darth Vader

Hmm I have this on pre-order, but I also have the ESB and the 1/4 RotJ. I hope we can see some video reviews comparing it to the ESB soon.

All Mondo X-Men Animated Figure Thread

I specifically wanted this because of the brown jacket. It was originally brown in the comics, but the cartoon changed it to green, either to not conflict with Morph's jacket (which is a character that didn't even exists in the comics), or just to unify her color scheme. Rogue's outfit has...
