I agree that SM1 and 2 were great, but those were a long time ago. They haven't done anything cool in a long time. That Ghostbusters reboot with Melissa McCarthy? It sucked. If the next James Bond (which will have a female take the mantle of 007) is like Ghostbusters, then they'll ruin that too.

I agree that the writing for Into the Spiderverse was really great, but in addition to the sheer magnitude of production, there are literally countless differences in producing an animated film vs. a Hollywood blockbuster that Sony just can't seem to get right.

Sony has proven they can make a good spider-man cartoon. That's about it. Spiderman 3 sucked. The ASM movies blew. Venom was terrible, despite having one of the most accomplished actors in a long time in Tom Hardy. Venom 2 will be worse, and Jared Leto's Morbius will make Suicide Squad look...

Picked up the 3D/4K steelbook and watched it last night - great flick. Hoping for a sequel. Maybe if Cameron makes Disney enough $$$ on the Avatar sequels, they’ll let him make another Alita, which seems to be another of his passion projects.

My $0.02 - this is definitely going to PO. The Batman isn’t supposed to release until 2021 and this character is a cash cow for HT so they’ll definitely want to put a version out within the next 2 years.

The “Advance Release” title is different than a con exclusive and makes me think this guy will 100% go up for a wider PO.
