It was ok. Kinda felt like a Netflix movie. Gosling and Blunt made a good couple. Wanted to see more Stephanie Hsu once I recognised her from Everything Everywhere All At Once. Best bit was the replacement actor cameo at the end, oh and the expected cameos were nice too. I'm sure it will fade...

Muppets = Pure, unbridled joy. :) OMG, the Statler/Swedish Chef/ Animal/ Cookie Monster gifs are hypnotic....waiting for them to briefly sync up.

I’m baffled by the hubris of some of these directors/writers. How about “Hey, I’m really proud of what we put together, I hope it will appeal to fans of any generation” and just get on with it. Realise that it’s impossible to please everyone and accept there will be people that won’t connect...

Fair enough. :) Their docos on ILM and this are pretty great though. About the only thing worth it for me (I'm actually using a friends account, so....)

Side note, I was lucky to join an online webinar by Toby Froud. It was an hour long presentation and he covered his childhood as the son of Brian and Wendy Froud, his involvement with Labyrinth and his eventual entry into the world of puppets and stop-motion - he worked at Laika on Boxtrolls...

Yeah, some little surprising nuggets in there for me too!

Didn't notice a thread on this. A pretty wonderful look at the life and influence of Jim Henson directed by Ron Howard. I'm sure most people here grew up with his work, so I'd recommend checking it out. Dare you to not get a little choked up when "Rainbow Connection" plays :)

I feel like Fury Road and Maverick were able to capture what was great about the originals and expand on them. Very rare though.... I have my doubts, but I really hope Keaton is able to pull this off.

RLM recently pointed out that the ring on the dismembered finger Beetlejuice pulls out of his jacket when he’s trying to marry Lydia seems to be referred to in the new movie as Monica Bellucci’s. She’s missing her ring finger. So yeah, throwaway gag turns into lore. Cooooollll…..
