I am incredibly sad to see PureArts get another amazing 1/6 license. I have purchased an embarrassing amount of 1/6 video game figures over the past decade and PureArts might be the worst given their price to quality ratio. IMO they tread dangerously close to Barbie doll quality but for Hot Toys...
Small update: I absolutely hate the display stand that comes with this figure. So, I began exploring alternatives. In my prior pics I just used a standard doll stand that worked well but I wanted something that matched the Norse setting.
First, I tried the HT display stand for snowspeeder Luke...
I might have to pass on this one. Money is tight and I have never had luck with rooted hair figures. But I look forward to seeing some in-hand pics before ultimately making that call.
The 3rd party has entered the chat. 1/6 scale Yaksha King is up for preorder at OSK.
Not sure about the company or durability but I am willing to take a chance at that price.
I am fine with a knockoff if it looks decent in-hand. I would have happily purchased an official figure if it was widely available, but no way I am paying those aftermarket prices.
After getting this figure in hand for a great price, my opinion has changed significantly.
The 3A version is more poseable with better paint, but I think I may end up keeping this one instead. This thing so heavy/solid that it feels like Doom Slayer :lol
Thanks for the coupon! I had every intention of passing on this figure because I have the 3A one already. However, at $148.75 shipped, I couldn't resist.
Sorry, Avalanche Leader comes with a generic round display base. I used an extra VTS display stand for my pic. I will make a note on my previous post to avoid confusion.
Finally had a chance to open up Shark Toys Barret. Overall, it does exactly what it says on the tin. My biggest fear was that he was going to be too short compared to my growing GT collection. Thankfully, he is taller (and heavier) than I was expecting and he fits in well.
Like everyone else, I...
Wow, Tifa looks amazing and is an instant preorder.
Also, I just got an invoice for Sharktoys Barret from OSK. I am hoping to see some in-hand pics before paying it off.
Yeah, this looks better than I was expecting. Not Lim quality, but good enough. I would purchase him if he was at my typical retailers (i.e., OSK or Giantoys). Oh well, I am happy for those of you that have one on the way!
