    Star Wars: The Acolyte

But this exact logic worked like a charm on the university campus luvvies. :dunno:rotfl

    Star Wars: The Acolyte

Well its certainly inflicting serious mental harm on members of a group - SW fans - with the intent to destroy it, so it does meet the UN definition of Genocide. :dunno So Disney's gone and proven there can indeed be Pride in Genocide.:lecture

    Star Wars: The Acolyte

Disney stock price has roughly halved in the three years since March 2021 (in context of Dow gaining from around 31,500 to around 40,000 in same period) and while that's largely to do with sluggish parks, it's also a measure of the overall picture with streaming at the core of that. They have...

    Star Wars: The Acolyte

It seems nobody even noticed when the whole TV/movie review landscape got ideologically captured probably 5-7 years ago. Certain types of movies/TV really can't get bad reviews anymore, so even beyond the deeply corrupt way RT operates now (there was always an element of "buying reviews" all...

Satirical site Babylon Bee gets serious...😬:lol

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi - 1/6th scale Darth Vader™ Figure

This whole Vader helmet look is pulled directly from the old Star Wars Incredible Cross-sections book.

Eh, Kill Bill is just a big bag of cultural appropriation nowadays. :dunno

    Alien: Romulus

tbh all I saw were nods to earlier films. "...and from Check-Casher Ridley Scott."

    Alien: Romulus

There really needs to be a long moratorium on the use of the "stunned hearing loss" sound effect.

Mars Toys - 1/6 Jaws Figures

Its funny the shark got so much criticism yet it looks so cool recreated in 1/6.

Jim Henson: Idea Man - Disney+

I won't post what I guess are sort of spoilers, but there were so many major things in this doc that I didn't know about Henson, and I know quite a lot about Henson and the Muppets. Really good doc.

    Star Wars: The Acolyte

    It was quite a finale.

You'd think waxing alternatives would be widely available post-apocalypse so not a reason to stay in one place for so long. :dunno Though still haven't seen this yet, so can't judge context of this comment.

    Beetlejuice 2

Neither is Hollywood. Well, until recently. :rotfl

    Beetlejuice 2

Interestingly, he was caught due to leads gained in the Paul Reubens investigation. Everything full circle back to Tim Burton (Reubens was the one who gave Burton his big break).:lol

    Beetlejuice 2

I remember being saddened seeing Tim Burton on the WB lot in the 90s driving the same generic black Range Rover as every off-the-shelf senior VP. I expected - I dunno - some cool, vintage or at least interesting car. Like what Seinfeld would choose for Burton if he was on Comedians in Cars.

No Jeffrey Jones this time out? :dunno :monkey3

    Furiosa (May 24, 2024)

That pretty much depicts Australia culturally 40 years later though. :dunno:rotfl Peter Garrett's entertainer-era sanctimony (followed by his politician era backpedal of that sanctimony) was pure Twitter-before-Twitter. It sort of reflects MM's ultra hard edged social commentary - seen best...

Well it was nice to have seen ya back on the big screen again, Max. You may have been relegated to a supporting role or barely even noticed - in your own franchise - but sorry to see you run out of guzzolene nevertheless.🙁:wave
