´´Hottoys Predator1 body length increase´´

Hi guys,

Is there anyone who knows a method of increasing the body lenght of the Hottoys Predator1?
It´s not in the right scale next to major Alan Dutch.

I believe some have cut the calf in half and glued an extension between the two parts to make them bigger. Maybe thigh. . .

I've done the neck mod which helps. To me the problem is not the legs but the torso. It could be done but that's major surgery and it doesn't bother me enough.

The torso is actually the correct lenght; it's the legs which need lengthening. Which is very easy, I'd say moreso than the torso.

Lengthening the legs is fairly easy. Cut the lower legs at the thickest part of the calf, then glue in a section of styrene of the thickness you want(I wouldn't go much more than 3/8").For the glue, I recommend Tenax-7, a solvent cement that is particularly good with styrene(which is what the HT leg pieces are cast from). The grieves will cover the addition completely. You can also lengthen the forearms the same way, to keep him proportional. I've done this on 2 AVP Pred's(Scar and Celt) and no one ever realized it beyond comments of "they look taller, how'd you do that?"...PS

I've just kept mine on his stand and Dutch displayed without stand. It gives off about a 2" difference in height. Meh, works for me.

hot toys SCREWED up big time with pred 1. fail all over it. l use to have two. he looked stupid beside the other preds. dutch is just as big as the pred. they need to redo pred 1 and do him some justice.

I agree about the pathetic undersizing. The damned predators weren't being made true 1/6th even as it was and they go and make 'The Big One' even smaller??? Dumba$$ move. However, other than that plus the MASSIVE ill-fitting biomask that I hope to replace courtesy of Baloo, its a great figure. Do a dread-mod and get a new mask and this figure can look incredible.

your right. l have seen the custom bio masks members have bought and they look great. and the dread mods l have seen were people took the longer dreads from lost pred and used those. but l dont agree we should have to over haul the figure to make it movie accurate. it should be accurate to begin with. especially with the amount these figs cost.

I agree, but I think Pred 1 is an awesome figure and with the stand's additional height (as mentioned) sits about the right height next to the other preds and Arnie. Again - shouldn't need to "trick" the display like that, but it is a great figure...

Its such a shame that the Number 1 Pred is the smallest ? They should have just looked at the Pred 2 elder fig who was actually a Pred 1 costume and the Original actor in the movie.
