Looks promising but where are the raiders???? :blissysmi
Fallout is not Fallout without those crazy strung-out raiders! :panic:
Always loved them!!!

Writers of Westworld, The Dark Knight/Rises, Interstellar including Christopher Nolans brother - so it definitely has a chance
I def trust Nolan, but Lisa Joy not so much. Westworld fell off a cliff quality of writing wise when Nolan stepped back and left Lisa in charge of it. If the show is more Nolan it will be good, if it is more Lisa Joy then not so much.

Love the games.. I've fervently played Fallout 3, New Vegas and Fallout 4 (skipped the new crappy one). This could easily go either way... Based on the trailer it looks like it could be good, but all depends on whether it falls into the same trap and category as so many other shows today. Which I won't get into. I'm tired of rolling my eyes at shows. Like most things today, I'll wait till its over and it's judged as a whole before I bother to dive in and give it a watch. Hollywood has dug themselves a hole. And I can't help it when I judge stuff based on what they have created. I try not to, but it's everywhere.

They highlight his name in the trailer but not hers, so I’d assume he’s taking the lead. But who knows.

I hope its a little goofy and fun like the game. I will expect the worst but it looks promising so far.

def looks the part, will the writing be any good?

Looks like Fallout 3 will be the core of the story, which is a good thing since it's the one game in the franchise with the most fundamental narrative structure used. What will likely happen is Purnell will be a composite of Amata ( the Overseer's daughter in the first vault) and part of the Lone Wanderer. The other half of the Lone Wanderer might end up in Goggin's character ( since he's a "ghoul", he can engage in a lot of violence without it becoming outright torture **** for casual viewers.

The world building in Fallout 3 was incredible. For it's time and even for today. Bizarrely, what's going to help this show is when Fallout 3 was made in the video game world, the technology wasn't advanced enough yet to really create more than one "path" for the protagonist. ( The first Deus Ex had the same issues) The raw amount of unique dialogue and dialogue options were already pushing the limit back then, to allow the protagonist to take the other side ( essentially join the Enclave) would have required double the voice work.

The Road with Viggo Mortensen is dystopian with open malice. That's just way too much for most people. Fallout 3 needs dystopian while tongue in cheek, but not going to the deep end of actual self parody. That's where a hack like Lisa Joy might get this wrong, i.e. not understanding that FO3 operates best as a reflection of human nature, not a commentary on it. My take on things. I'm really looking forward to this show.

I appreciate that they nailed the aesthetic but I don't understand why everything looks so clean. There should be a layer of dirt on literally everything.

There's a shot from inside the grocery store and the plastic pumpkins in the back look brand new.

Cautiously optimistic, because visually the look is right, so if the story and writing is good I think this could be a solid hit.

As an avid fan this looked amazing.

They gave away huge plot point with showing the "salesman" become the ghoul....

Unless that's in episode one, they should have kept that secret.

I have vacation the week it releases since they are dropping the entire series at once, this will be a two day marathon of Vault dweller fun....

So much joy in the fact the dry humor is there.....

"I thought all you dipshits we're dead...l LOL

Fallout 3 and New Vegas were the only games that I ever really became invested in while playing. The world and its inhabitants felt so real that my actions were always driven by good karma, no matter how much harder it sometimes made the missions. I always ended up as a Messiah.

After the vanilla game had been exhausted I downloaded so many mods, new missions and new worlds to the point where I think I exhausted all the decent ones.

I haven't gone back into that world in years, but the trailer took me there again.

Amazon shows are weird. There’s just something about them wrong. I can’t put my finger on it but some of the stuff they produce is absolute garbage. This show looks pretty good so yes, let’s hope they don’t screw it up…
They have the same good-trash ratio as Netflix, Disney+ and all the others imo.

Looks surprisingly good. Casting Goggins was such a smart move.

Love FO3. You could easily spend 1000 hours on a first ever playthrough and IMHO never be bored.
