nothing in the past 5 years has been made for boomers, not Netflix not Disney not Amazon. everything is literally made for zoomers .
where do you get that?

how they avoid to do anything "offensive ". on how everything feels sanitized. nothing is edgy anymore. except horror.where do you get that?
Again, it’s not an adaptation. It’s “based on”, “inspired by”. It’s not canon, it’s just based on characters and events mentioned in the Silmarillion and the histories, nothing that was published during Tolkien’s lifenothing in the past 5 years has been made for boomers, not Netflix not Disney not Amazon. everything is literally made for zoomers .
they didn't respect the material.why would they respect this

In that way, perhaps. They do adjust for cultural preferences of any period.
But to say Jack Ryan and Reacher are for today's kids...
...you think that's because of zoomers rather than a general societal shift in mores and attitudes coupled with a diversification of writers/producers beyond the traditionally straight, white male mold?
What's not 'edgy' enough for you exactly? What are you hoping to be "offended" by?
I don’t care what decade they set it in just give me lots of Daphne Keen T&A and i’ll be there opening night first show!
Stop with “the baggage” “risky reputation” nonsense! Bond is one of the most successful book and movie franchises of all time. Amazon were desperate to buy that franchise. The only “risk” is that Amazon mess up their stewardship of the characters and franchise; Bond has a huge fan base and it’s silly to keep saying the character is risky - the last film made over $770 million and was the fourth biggest film of the year. People are clearly just fine with James Bond.and that wouldn't be the case here ?
it depends, Jack Ryan and Reacher are good, but still pretty safe. bond already has a risky reputation, that's definitely on their minds, his risky reputation,
Amazon might do a good job, I might like it. it might be good, faithful to the books, but bond brings a lot of baggage because of the movies

I think this would fly but anything approaching the infamous "sauna" scene from Thunderball would not.Would nuGen really be uncomfortable with this?

Jeez, I mean, they're raised on much worse porn.

The film was of its time - of course it wouldn't be made that way today. Let's face it, 90% of movies from different eras would be made differently if they were made again today. The problem is directors like Cary Fukunaga decided they needed to redress the "power balance" by emasculating Bond completely, and then of course, by finally just bloody killing him off. Two wrongs don't make a right.I think this would fly but anything approaching the infamous "sauna" scene from Thunderball would not.
As long as the consent is obvious, I don't expect a problem.
I like Craig's Bond more than others here, but No Time To Die was indeed pretty bad. Making Bond a dad immediately hobbled it.The film was of its time - of course it wouldn't be made that way today. Good riddance to Babs Broccoli who allowed this **** to happen on her watch.
I literally just looked up the scene on YouTube and someone called it predatory,Would nuGen really be uncomfortable with this?
