1:4 Chris Reeve *Painted by J.C.Hong*

Hi everyone,

I'm still working on the 1:4 scale Chris Reeve as Superman statue (the first batch of costumes have finally been sent to me today).

In preparation for the completion of my own statue, I contacted J.C.Hong in Korea and he kindly agreed to paint the head and hands for me. (He's the talented figure artist who paints the amazing Bruce Lee figures for Arnie Kim).

This guy is a GENIUS. I can honestly say that I have never seen such a perfect paintjob on something of this scale. It doesn't show up in the photos, but the eyebrows are actually created from hundreds of extremely thin "hairs" which have been drawn onto the sculpt!

Chris, I've been following this project since the beginning, and I'm continually blown away by what you've commissioned. It's literally perfect.

I've got a few commissions coming up that I'd LOVE to have painted anywhere near that quality.

Right now,

There is no base.

However, a statueforum member/painter is planning a Fortress of Solitude base specifically for the CKING Superman and it will even have a green crystal that lights up.

It should look fantastic but is still months away.

I just checked out the other painted pics from JC's site. Amazing detail.

Unfortunately, J.C.Hong took the photos from a close distance which kind of distorts the proportions a bit. He also adjusted a few things before shipping, but he hasn't updated his blog with the final, final pics. To get a better idea of what this really looks like, my photos are a closer representation.

I'd love a Fortress of Solitude base, but I can't afford to commission one at the moment.
