On SixScaleMafia's stream a couple weeks ago, someone asked about Clayface. They said wait till you see the figure they have for the SDCC exclusive and you will see what direction they are going in.

The general consensus from that is that Clayface is coming.
He would definitely be a showstopper. As for where else I’d like them to go, with the way they seem to kind of just gravitate towards characters and cult episodes they love, I’d personally lose my mind if we ever got to see The Gray Ghost.

Don't care about noir repaints but that Phantasm is beautiful! Really happy to see them going beyond the main core cast. Getting that for sure. The 4K UHD announcement was for the movie was just leaked today as well.

This will presumably come with an unmasked Phantasm sculpt?

As a gullible child, I did not see that twist coming when I originally saw the movie in the theaters.

As long as we also get some of the good guys too. Gordon, Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin.

You bringing up Nightwing makes me wonder if they’ll ever dip their toe into the New Batman Adventures designs. At the very least, I feel like it’d be cool to see Superman, if they ever dabble in the redesigns.

Thanks, I agree. All I asked for Mondo to do was to send replaceent parts and I could send back the defective parts if they want. The person refused, said they don't have them. Calls themself "mondo support" and won't give me a name of contact for someone else. I'm beginning to think it's an incredibly unhappy customer support worker as it just doesn't make sense. "They" want me to send it back at my expense or give me 30 percent credit. They finally said they would send me a new one (but uninspected) if I send old one back at my expense. Problem is, I would be charged duty again. If they sent me replacement parts, there would be no duty and I'd be happy and would love to keep Batman. Nope. "They" won't do that. No replacement parts.

Good luck guys, beautiful line but I had an awful experience as you can see from the pics I posted. I won;t blame Mondo, but I will blame the TERRIBLE passive agressive CSR rep who wants me to keep defective pieces for 30 off. Not for 80 off. I want a normal fig like everyone does. Thanks for the support and hope you all get great quality figures

Sry for TLDR just bad experience is all and it's not right. Oh well. I'm still happy with all the other companies new stuff :)

Perhaps you got a specific customer service rep that was not particularly good?

The couple times I had a QC or replacement queries with Mondo, the customer service was excellent and I was immediately sent the replacement parts.

Some collectors even mentioned Mondo gave a $50 gift card credit in addition to the replacement (this was with the Timed He Man body fiasco).

Sorry to hear about your experience. I heard horror stories with other companies like NECA.

Probably thinking too far down the road, but I'd love to see some Justice League Unlimited figures.

It has been unofficially confirmed by the sculptor that it includes an unmasked sculpt 👍🏻

I'm also surprised Man-Bat is still available.

I was on the site, clicking refresh like a mad-man on the hour until it became available to buy, and very swiftly added to cart and checked out! 😂 I thought for sure it was going to disappear quick, because of how limited it is. But it seems I needn't have been so hasty.

Perhaps you're right, @McHaleyArt , and it's the price keeping people on the fence about it. But if you ask me, compared to other figures in the line, this is a great price. Especially for an exclusive!

A lot of criticism for the line is price. I've seen comments calling these "oversized action figures".

Some of it's warranted when you remember Freeze, Batman 1.0 and Catwoman danced around $150 and now with Joker and beyond, $200+

This is uninformed criticism. The price of an action figure scales to the size of the mold and the number of units produced. NECA can make a 1/4 scale plastic action figure, because they have wide distribution and sell 10,000+ units, so the cost of the large mold is distributed among a large production quantity. Mondo makes a smaller amount, only sold online (narrow distribution), probably under 5,000, so it costs more per unit.

It's not an apples to apples comparison. But people will ignore the facts and complain regardless. And sure, Mondo will charge as much as the market will bear, but that's the same with any company.

You'll notice Wolverine can be snagged for cheap, because it was distributed through Diamond to comic shops, similar to how NECA is distributed. So, it was likely a situation where Diamond placed a large order, raising production quantity, lowering unit cost. But their other figures, like Magneto, can't be bought so cheaply because Mondo repeat that process. Probably because Diamond takes a significant cut of the profits for distribution and Mondo wasn't comfortable with that.

And to your specific point, I believe Freeze, Batman, and Catwoman are all pre-pandemic releases, and as you've noticed, the prices have skyrocketed for all goods and services since then, for legitimate and not-so-legitimate reasons.

China will continue to raise the cost of production to US companies until their labor market collapses and the US looks to a less developed nation to manufacture plastic goods. But larger companies will need to start that investment first.

Absolutely true but some folks don't wanna believe that. Some even blame Funko for the price hike. Looked into it and Joker was meant to be priced at $165 in early 2020 when announced. He was fully revealed in '22 at $220 and this was right around the time where Funko acquired Mondo.

The complaints are more about what you get for the price being asked; value and not about production numbers. You can produce a 1 of 1 limited edition turd asking 1 million dollars for it but the fact that it is a turd, a 1 million price tag makes it overpriced.

I wonder what the difference will be between the Timed EX and Standard Phantasm figures.

Mondo usually gates the unmasked sculpt with only the Timed or EX edition like the Catwoman - that one is still easily in stock, not the best Selina Kyle resemblance.

IIRC, the Phantasm DC Collectibles 6-inch line never came with an unmasked sculpt.

The movie never got a theatrical release here so I was one of those kids for who the ending was ruined by seeing the Kenner figure in a toy shop.
:lol that sucks. you must of saw that 2-pack.

I believe the movie bombed, I'm not sure if it got a wide theatrical release so maybe that is why the film did not screen in your area.

Also comic book content was not as mainstream or pop culture relevant in the early 1990s as it is today.

MotP was never meant to be a theatrical release. WB only changed their minds well into development. Bruce Timm recently revealed that since the sudden decision messed with the film's budget.
Due to the sudden move, MotP was only given a shoddy trailer and zero marketing.
This was reference in '95 when the late Siskel and Ebert gushed on MotP, saying, "HOW DID WE MISS THIS?!"
