Sorry not posted for ages but thought I'd share this.
Mad Max 2 Road Warrior.
Dark Toys - Reworked.
Denied myself a good Max figure for years but finally decided I needed one. A joy to work on, I love this ****!
• Head repainted (apart from open eye, left as stock)
• Gave the pleather a coating of 303 first. Repainted the pleather suit with a mix using black Flexipaint and Citadel Lahmian medium, this gives the whole thing a more matt look to the leather. (FYI the Flexipaint is the same stuff I used on my Batman Begins suit.) Then applied weathering powders and some drybrushing and finally sprayed a coat of Flexi-varnish. So this whole process should act as some protection to the pleather.
• Body swap for a Jiaou 10A. Again coated with 303, repainted/wash with alcohol inks and sealed with Smooth-On parts A&B Silicone paint. These bodies can crack so fingers crossed it holds up at least on the bare arm. I like the proportions here, very slim body as Mel wasn’t that ripped. Although pisses me off how with these Jaiou bodies (excl TBleague) as they tend to make the legs way to frigging long. So he is a bit taller than I would like but I can live with it. Bit of a blessing really as the stock body is too short and makes the head look big.
• Leg brace used is not stock but the Present Toys Mad Warrior. Repainted to give a steel finish and weathering.
• All accessories touched up/weathered. Gun holster repainted/weathered. T-shirt cut and dyed dark brown.
• Boots are DID German painted/weathered.
• Final beautiful touch are custom boot straps by
Chris D Potter / One Sixth Western Saddlery. Great guy to work with. Thanks again Chris.
