I was just gonna ask about the hair too. What color was it before you dye it? And what do you use to dye the hair? I'm gonna try to do something on my ht v1 joker, thanks a lot. Amazing work btw.

It was a medium brown color before I dyed it and I used a dye called jacquard acid dye the color was Kelly green.

By the way, that is the best joker head I've seen so far! You really captured the laugh! Bravo

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Dope! Did you have a hard time doing the open mouth with teeth and tongue?

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Please take me off the list Monkey.

SUPERB work, but it looks a tad oversized on the body in those pics.

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Sorry Zack I would also like to be removed from the list

Whilst its an amazing sculpt, once put on the body it does look oversized :monkey2

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

This really kills me... I feel the same as snake and teddy... Is there a way to shrink the cast? I know spenser managed to increase the size of his Alfred head - not sure how, but I imagine there must be a way to do the opposite, key is, if it's affordable to go through the procedure

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

I think I agree y'know. Superb sculpt just looks a bit too big.

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Monkey post pics of joker standing up straight with all his coats on and then without his coats, but standing up straight.

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Could you also show a pic of your head next to the DX. Realize there different expressions but would help judge scales. Thanks, you do excellent work.:clap

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Thats a realistic head size ..and i'd imagine it won't look as big when he has his sports coat and purple jacket on, but for the jail scenes it does look a little big.

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Sorry to say, but I have to agree: the sculpt is a killer, but the scale is off. And considering the point of the laugher was for interrogation set up, how it looks with the coat etc., is a non issue. Short of starting over, is there anything that can be done Zack?

It's not. It is too big, unfortunately.

HT are often undersized with heads, but this is oversized.

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Anyone have any idea if there's a way to shrink a cast - As per my earlier post? Agree with Chris that it's a non-issue whether the scale looks better with the coats, this one is meant to be displayed without the coats

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

wow guys its a god damn action figure , who the F cares if its a tad bit big , look at all other hot toys heads , they are a bit outta scale , but you all still buy them right? so i would stop bashing this sculpt , it is amazing and for the price he is selling them for , its insane . if you have an issue with the size then put the head on a regular trutype or a bigger figure . thats all :nana: :wave

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

I agree the sculpt looks fine in the first pic but from other angles it is a bit large for that body.

I'm pretty sure theres a way that you can fix it by just changing what material you make the head casts out of. Its called Neoprene we use t make masks and puppet heads a lot. Its the same material used to make wet/scuba suits.

Neoprene has the tendency to shrink once it fully cures and dries. It usually doesn't shrink a ton but probably just enough to get this head to siz. It usually shrinks a little less the 1/4. And you wouldn't have to change the mother mold. I've made puppet heads with neoprene that shrinks a bit from the original mother mold size in my experience and many fellow puppeteers have experienced the same effect. So once completely dry if neoprene is used to make the cast it should come down to the right size. but make sure the cast is solid so it does not shrink too much.

Just a suggestion. Worth a try! Good luck Monkey!
