Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

While guys with amazing talent, I still don't see any of these custom Jokers that are any better than HT's stuff really. Not getting the Joker obsession still. Not denying the amazing work though.

Monkey's likeness is much better than the DX HS.

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Got my Hit Me head sculpt today.

The likeness, paint-job and hair are all stelar. Beyond that, I will let the pics speak for themselves:

FYI, I put him on a Standard TT, not a Narrow Shoulder.

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

This really is a fantastic deal MRM is offering. Such a great upgrade from the DX, and compared to the one that cost a thousand dollars, it looks pretty on par :rock

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Awesome dude! I hope you're happy with it, and merry Christmas. :)

Also, you clearly have a better camera then I do, what are you using?

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Okay guys...just wanted to let you know that I have officially run out of hair but will be getting the next batch the first week of January or so. Thank you so much everyone for your patience the next couple weeks. Sorry for the delay.

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

Other than that the size itself is identical.

That's a bad example mrm because CryBaby C already said the heads he made for that Joker were bigger than HT's heads and he didn't care because it was "right". Here's the thing, doesn't matter if the head size is correct or if HT's heads are small, etc. Bottomline: you guys are making custom head sculpts FOR Hot Toys figures. So your head sculpts should be exactly the same size as the head sculpts your customs will be replacing. If not.. then you end up with undersized heads or in your case, bobbleheads.

You definitely have skills and you've made some incredible sculpts but honestly, all three Joker heads I've seen from you (on HT Joker figures) are oversized. Even the fixed laughing sculpt still looks too big IMO.

If your customers are happy.. that's all that matters. That's the only people you have to please anyways.

But these aren't private threads so everyone on the board is free to post their comments and opinions.

Keep doing your thang bro!

Re: 1/6 Heath Ledger Joker laughing head by MonkeyRobotMaster

God, this shows how bad, I mean REAAALLY bad the DX is. The likeness is sooo damn off, i can't believe it. I always thought he is looking a bit off, but after this compare here, I just can't believe Hot Toys made this head after they've done so many Heath sculpts and this should be the ultimate Heath Joker headsculpt?

And as for the size, I'm liking it, and I think it looks very good. Not every human has the same headsize, so why can't a figure have a slightly bigger head then another figure? But judging with the pics, I like the size.

Because it looks wrong when all those figures use the same size body and have generally the same sized heads. That's the thing. What you're saying is 100% true but only in real life. Most HT figures use the same exact bodies. So uniformity is important especially when you're displaying multiple figures. If you have 5 figures ALL using the same True Type then it'll be painfully obvious if one figure has a larger head sculpt. Even if in real life, the person who the figure is based on has a larger head it still doesn't look right.

That's fine if that were the case with the figures in TDK line, the head sizes go from small to medium to large. The smallest being the Bruce Wayne head, which when measured to the OC Batman head has the same difference in size that my Joker head has to the DX Joker head, about a millimeter. That would mean in 1/1 Batman's cowl would be an 1 1/2" to 2" thick, which it was not. Also in the small category are the Two-Face and Dent heads, medium are the Joker heads, and large are the Batman heads (the largest in width and length being the OC Batman head which is a tiny bit larger then the DX Batman head). HT head sizes are rather inconsistent for some reason.

Nothing with any of these figures is perfect or will ever be, and I didn't size my head only to Bob's Joker. It just ended up that way after I had measured the head to fit anatomically to the hands, feet and length of limbs and width of shoulders (on the regular TT body, not the narrow shoulder one) . So if after that my head ended up the same size as Bobby's then well I guess he was right too. You don't have to agree with me, that's fine. I didn't start out to do this for anyone but myself because giant hands bug me, and then it just kind of blew up from there. If no one else minds then I really see no point in you beating a dead horse, but if you feel the need to go ahead. All I would ask is please don't start any arguments, thanks.
