Head looks to be a decent improvement over the ANH Chewie, but not a massive leap forward - zoomed in, the face still looks a bit funky (a bit doggy), but at least it's a step up over the ANH version rather than a noticeable step down like the awful TFA version was.

Will be interesting to see any proto vs production drop with so much applied fur in the mix on the face.

Excited to see if this is a new full 3PO that's ESB style or if its just a "solid" backpack 3PO accessory (that can't be assembled) with limited articulation.

And does this mean a run of ESB figs, or is it a one-off?

The ANH Wook is still 1 of my fav figures.
It's all in the futzing!!
Tilt of the head,knock knees.
This will be no different.

So many of us have wished for a TESB Chewbacca and Han Solo for the longest time.
There is no way this won't get released!!!
It is OT.
The bread and butter of Star Wars,with the PT close behind.

Exciting to see Hot Toys finally getting to these!

Definitely alot in the futzing, but hoping they more accurately capture Chewies slender, lanky figure as in the OT, rather than the more beefed up wookies we see in the sequels and beyond, which is what i'm seeing.

I ALMOST see ROTS Chewie in the pics due to his bulkiness.

If so, this could be the thing that ends HT collecting for me. Missing out on Anakin was disappointing but there are and will be other options for that character. Chewie cannot be limited as I'll almost certainly buy two (maybe three) to display with Endor and Smuggler Han... Now I'm nervous.

Yeah the problem is that the last Chewie was got was what? 7 years ago?

HT collecting wasn’t as massive as it is now, the market has grown significantly.

If HT are at the point where they need to limit rooted figures to a few thousand copies then there’s no way I see them producing a new Chewbacca as a regular release these days.
