Styrofoam? Sure looks like it. $19.99 tops, if anyone pays more than that I have one word for you.... SUCKERRRRRR :rotfl

Re: 1/6 - Hot Toys - IM3 - Hall of Armor (House Party Protocol Ver.) - Spec + Pic

The stands like the one that comes with this sell for $25 - $75 on ebay,

The design of the bay looks right but it comes with a stand that you shouldn't need.

These will sell but they would have sold a lot more of them if they didn't include the stand which would have cost a lot less to make.

Then they could have included a HP stand with the HP armors.

Really they should have done seeming they came with the Patriot armour!

:rotfl hehe, your probably right

I dont think its foam, I'd say its plastic sculpted to look like concrete, which happens to also look like Styrofoam

The proto is probably foam sculpted to look like concrete, but theres no way the final product can be foam. Not unless they're charging $5 a piece.

But there are other plastic parts and the light up base.
The proto main shape is 100% foam. That's likely how it's "so cheap", lol.

Theres no way, people would destroy them trying to stack them on each other, all the walls are equally thin and the bottom would need to be way thicker to support that base + figure.

Plus you could build the damn thing yourself with craft store sheets of foam and paint and still come out on top over ordering these.

Not at all. The curved back wall adds a lot of strength to it, especially if the back is flat on the rear. It will not need to support a lot of weight, and styrofoam is made for this type of load bearing work.

Moulded styrofoam is a lot stronger than sheets cut up and glued together.
I am willing to bet that this foam version makes it to production as is.

Re: 1/6 - Hot Toys - IM3 - Hall of Armor (House Party Protocol Ver.) - Spec + Pic

Foam is not as weak as everyone seems to think. Surfboards are made of foam. Half the movie props are foam. Half the large scale statues and sculptures are foam. These are foam. 40 ft tall. With a hard coat it's tuff enough for nearly any purposeimage.jpgimage.jpg

Re: 1/6 - Hot Toys - IM3 - Hall of Armor (House Party Protocol Ver.) - Spec + Pic

perhaps your right, I may become a foam fan pretty soon :lol
