1/6 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS 452 - Star Wars: Episode V ESB - Darth Vader

That's surprisingly shorter than the RO version. The height difference is just odd, they just released another ANH Vader like 6-8 months ago and then this one is like at least 1/2" shorter. I'm waiting on the RotJ version myself, but I would still get this one, maybe some day.

Once again, look at RO Vader's dome -- lens distortion at work. Cellphone pics suck. Perhaps RO Vader is not quite as high as the distortion appears to make it.

I just looked. Its a bit hokey looking compared to today's detail. LED pattern is incorrect. And there's no red light on the belt boxes. That said, the chest box looks the right size. And its easier to use. BUT... I doubt it will fit the HT bulk without modifications.

Ok thanks. I thought I remembered the detail looking pretty good, at least compared to the very first SS Vader, but I haven't checked it out in awhile.

I want to get this....only because it represents the cinematic best version of Vader from my favorite film of all time. But I think I'm going to pass. I am not the guy who knows every single difference on Vader's mask between films. But I look at his face and that is not what Empire Vader looks like. It's off. And I'll keep my RO/ANH V2 hybrid for now. I'll try and pick up his gloves and possibly the base. Depends on the price of those.

Like I said, I want to want to buy this version. It's just disappointing that his face is off enough where someone like me notices that is not a gods representation of Vader from Empire.

Mine is a Sideshow body and is definately bulkier than the HT. It would def fit.

Can take better pics tomorrow if there's anything in particular people want to see, i don't think you can move the esb chest box seems stuck in place, RO is 100% bigger and imo a better scale with Tarkin, troopers and Luke, RO cape is way better don't know why they didn't use the same material, esb can't look down at all.

This ESB Vader has an ROTS helmet!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Ha, that’s frustrating right? They likely did use this moment along with the reveal in Jedi. I would have preferred that they just used Empire for reference... bleh.

They need a Pablo Hidalgo type person advising them during the design phase.

I think the esb vader looks much more in scale

My only nitpicks are the skinny arms and suit still too ribbed in the legs(or at least appears that way)

For me that R1 mask looks a lot better than Empire..

His arms doesn't seem slim or short in the side photo.
I wonder if tusks can be removed and realigned. Apart from inaccuracy which doesn't bother me o much, they seem to be bent downwards. They really should follow the lower bar.
Also, seam in the uper bar isn't so important if only they aligned both ends properly.

Yeah right now the height is the only thing about this I really like.

ESB on the left, RO on the right. The chest armor seem to be same size apart from shoulder pouldrons.
It seems torsos are the same. ESB has a shorter neck and more importantly, shorter legs. That's where height difference seem to come from. I still can't figüre out why arms appear to be short though they are not.

And yeah, those shoulder bells do seem really oversized. Going to swap those out for another Vader's.

Yes. I have not watched before posting the link. I don't understand how Hot Toys can put enormous shoulder pauldrons to Vader.

He looks enough like esb vader for me to be happy. I would never notice most of the details brought up here. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss
