The way the eye openings are sculpted it seems like its designed for him to be looking slightly upward.

When a person moves their eyes around it changes the actual shape of that eye opening IRL, so it's very likely it was hard sculpted with "upward" looking eyes in mind. It looks terrible when they're set up dead centre mass, though that's also because it makes him look like a robot.

Those images from Thomastoys_onesix show that the sculpt can look pretty much spot on with the PERS done nicely.

There we go!!

The way how it was lit in the video, IMO, didn’t do the figure any Justice. Everything looked washed out and made a soft sculpt look even softer.
My bad dude, yeah it is a little washed out lol. I guess I was looking more at the poses and features. That MRC video really shows it in its glory, looks like HotToys shrunk HC down from 20 years ago! You guys think the Artisan will look this good? I would think Hot Toys is going to make sure that one is a home run since they have their Artisan label attached to it.

It’s cool, 😉 no worries.

For a HT figure, HT did a good job with Anakin. I hope they stick the landing with the artisan. And I hope they wise up and release a standard version. My EP3 figure desperately needs an upgrade.

I agree. Getting the eyes in the right position helps a lot. I think my Padme figure captures Portman’s likeness best when she’s looking to the side.

Wow are these pictures from a forum member? I wanted to get this to go with my Kenobi Vader and upcoming Artisan Anakin. But the blogger photos and some of the videos are underwhelming and made me pass on this. Now these photos have sparked my interest again. These pictures look like a different figure, like it was touched up. Even the clothing. I guess he fixed it up a little and used better lighting. I mean this looks like the prototype. I may even go as far as say the pictures look like a real person at a quick glance. It's on par with the recent Tom Holland Spider-Man and Shuri Black Panther sculpts. We need more in hand pictures like these.

It's from an instagram user. The handle I mentioned in the post is Thomastoys_onesix

But, there's no mention of it being touched up. I'm sure he just actually took the time to futz with it rather than just taking it out of the box and snapping pics right away to be first, which is why the clothing looks so good.

Yup. One of the things these recent pics did where the other ones didn’t was adjust the tunic and collar and we see more of his neck.

It’s crazy, but believe it or not, a sculpts likeness is also affected by the shape of the neck. If the actor has a thicker neck but the figure features a ‘pencil neck’…it can alter the over all likeness.

Hayden’s got a long a** neck 😂. The pics you posted reflects that, which on top of good lighting makes the figure look much better.
