Yeah, I just started watching it. Changing the hair makes such a difference. First thing I'll be modifying when I get mine.

Here's a pic of her with modified hair from Dean's video at the start. Wow !

Edit : haha looks like we all have the same thought !! Happy that she can look so good though !

That wasn't intentional :lol he said it happened because of the hoody :wink1:

Yeah I will say in the sort of washed out lighting of Deans review it does look more like the proto sculpt again from some angles. I think probably because it makes the cheeks look a bit softer and rounder and less angular like they've now made them.

Not to mention that the eye makeup doesn't seem quite so dark and heavy.

I saw the film again in HD 4K and even when she was wet you can still see her hair was lighter than say Cassian's wet. :lecture

My conclusion for whatever reason is HT just figured giving her a generic brown tint for the sculpted hair and thought it wouldn't matter on the profile, unfortunately Felicity has that kind of face that her hair really makes her face more memorable.

So I still believe the answer for this is just some simple highlighting to the hair sculpt..not too much and there you go. :lecture

Yep, that's why I'm thinking the Tamiya weathering pastels are the way to go. There are some browns in there. It's all dry application and easy to apply/take off. I've never done anything like that though to a HT figure. Will be happy to see if there is anyone with some experience have a go.

I'd like to see what SilentSurfer could do with that sculpt. Other than her lips not being properly pursed I still think that a repaint might reveal that the sculpt is indeed a total homerun. Since I've got Imperial Disguise Jyn on Flex and the PF on the way I think I'll wait a bit to see whether or not I feel a third collectible is in order. Hopefully the Deluxe hangs around a while so that I'll still have that option when the time comes.

I will once I get mine . What I love about HT sculpting is I love how they really detail the strands of sculpted hair, there's plenty of room to see the fine details that I feel sets up a huge base to work with in customizing. And that goes the same with the other parts of the face sculpts. They do a phenomenal job. Sometimes they just need a touch up here and there but nothing to completely drastic.

I will also see if the lips need some touch up , it's hard to tell from photos even videos until in hand.

The production version head sculpt has the eyes positioned further apart than the prototype. That's the problem, plus the eyes seem to be differently shaped. The difference in paint application is also noticeable. Not sure why they changed the proto - it was near perfect.

Since this is the only version of Jyn we'll be getting outside of the Imperial disguise, I'll still pick it up - all the accessories and different looks are hard to pass up.

I'm not even sure it's so much that her eyes are a different shape as they've been painted.... badly. She has winged eyeliner now and really big eyelashes. The prototype -- and even the figures we saw on display at Comic Con -- wasn't painted like that.

It's the same sculpt. What you are seeing is lens distortion. Shooting something this small with a normal lens results in the facial features appearing to be warped a bit.

It's not the same sculpt as the very first prototype. The lip shape is different and so are her cheekbones and jaw.

Look, you can see that the protoype sculpt does not look like the final product:

A few pages back I literally overlayed two photos of the same angle and the sculpt lines up perfectly. A combination of lighting, paint and lens distortion is what you are seeing.

The prototype is the same sculpt as the disguise version which is the same sculpt as the production.

Lighting and paint make a big difference in how something appears, but this is the same physical sculpt.

Not sure how people can't at least see that the shape of the upper lip is different now, or that the cheeks are a bit less puffy. But whatever.

I do agree a repaint (and lightening the hair) would probably improve the likeness considerably though.

After seeing the Hi-res videos I'm fine with her. Looks great IMO. Sure from a couple of angles she may not be 100%, but pull the hair a bit away from the face and she looks great.

All this OCD comparing will always find differences.
