The enhanced articulation is really awesome and I can't believe they didn't do this for the '89 2.0 :slap only hope is that maybe the updated suit wasn't ready since they mention "the newly designed Batsuit to mimic the material appearance" in the description, but that's probably a fools hope :monkey2

Armor on top of fabric suit and split cut boot really make all the difference.

Also interesting to see more figures getting their own unique bases much like InArt is doing. Though that breaks the cohesive look I've built overtime with the rectangular bases :lol

Call me crazy but that's probably gonna be the DX32 "1989 Batman with Batcomputer"

I mean as nice as the improved articulation is, I can't imagine posing the 89 Batsuit in any kind of extreme action poses. It just doesn't fit with that suit and style at all when all he did in the film was stand around and move awkwardly.

Wouldn't want it any other way. :lol

It's weird because I'm old but I have no desire to own old versions of these classic characters.

This
Star Wars OT Crew
Indiana Jones
Terminator
Rambo
Any and all

Just not falling for the nostalgia bait I guess:huh

I will wait for a third party company to bring us an Old Bruce Wayne suit to use the Headsculpt.

I use to display Batman with Bruce Wayne.

The original DX09 was said to be difficult to even pose with the signature arm up with the grapple gun/line launcher pose. No one is trying to do the deep poses shown here in these pics of old man Keaton, but when all you can do is stand him there, arms down forever, that doesn't make for a very fun figure either. It would be nice for it to be easier to raise the arms, have ankle tilt, waist rotation, etc. without struggling to do so if able to at all. Not to mention, we buy these things for accuracy and having the suit be made accurately to the real thing is always a bonus. And the real thing wasn't a fully encased rubber costume. This figure proves that HT can make the '89 suit accurately, they just chose not to.

not to rain on people's party, but seeing k_won's comparisons shows glaring issues for this figure to me.

likeness needs work, its about 80% keaton
collar piece is completely wrong
minor errors to the cowl itself

I'm OK with it. The sculpt looks like if you aged '89 Keaton as opposed to literally how he looks now. He looks a bit thin in the neck there, probably wanted him to look like a superhero.

Can't understand how people don't think this is spot on. Comparison pics always make me laugh, as if people are unaware that humans can vary and change their expressions (not to mention camera lens distortions, etc.).

Anyway, this is an incredible sculpt and miles above my Returns Bruce Wayne. So much so that I'm tempted to display him without the cowl, which is something I never do...

Ordered mine today and used around $40 in reward points. Now the wait until December 2024 begins. At least I'll have Pattison arriving in between.

Well they could probably get away with it because his suit looks super thin and cheap compared to what he wore in the previous movies. Those were rubber too but could at least pass for being armor on screen with how thick they were.

Well, put my order in and now I'm gonna go back to sleep for a year or two and sleep through Hot Toys' eventual delays.

I'm not sure I understand what your saying. The chest piece on this Flash suit looks to be the same/similar thickness to that of the Returns suit so idk how that makes it any different than this figure :dunno I'm talking about the actual construction of the suit on this figure showing that it is doable to make the previous suits more accurate to their original construction in figure form given what they've done here. The original '89 and Returns suits were not full rubber suits, but a fabric body suit with the rubber armor pieces adhered on top. They could do a split cut boot with the '89/Returns boots just like they've done here as well.

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding what you're saying, but I don't see how they're getting away with anything on this figure; or why it's doable here but not on the other suits. It's not a deal breaker as I do have the '89 2.0 on order. I'm just saying that it's seems pretty obvious to me that HT is capable of making the original suits more accurate to their original construction now, which would benefit us in terms of posing ability vs the traditional underlying body encased in a full rubber suit.

Anyway, not going to keep harping on it. Clearly most folks are fine with the originals and the '89 2.0 as is and I'm in the minority of wanting something more accurate and, by default, more poseable :duff

You do realize that by the time this releases, many of you will be well over the nostalgia of The Flash-back.

I'm not sure I even want to see the movie. Blade Runner 2 aside, most/all of this new stuff has hurt all of the legacy character mentioned in my above post. . It already doesn't feel right seeing Keaton outside of Burton's universe in the trailers and the last thing I want is another beloved character to be "Last Jedied".

My absolute disgust with Ezra Miller doesn't help matters either.

I think it's rather obvious that Hot Toys took the lazy route and just reused the Keaton sculpt from their stellar Spider-Man: Homecoming Vulture figure. Oh wait....

Waiting on the NWH figures to be my only marvel figures. From Flash obviously Both Batman, possibly Flash and any other character that interests me will be on my to get list.

Keaton Batman retains his dignity and legacy after the Flash. It’s not another Luke Skywalker situation.

If anything, people are going to want to see more of him after the movie. He’s not in it a ton, and the missed opportunity of not using him for a Batman Beyondesque film is going to nag at people I bet.
