UltraMegaGigaExtra High End
I don't think such a thing is possible with mass-produced collectibles.

Even high-end is apparently a feat for some of these companies. Though I will say figures have an easier time hitting that standard than statues. Not sure why that is.

EDIT: Just realized I responded to a two day-old post. Keep forgetting clicking on these threads whizzes me back to the last page I saw.

Just give it time. In 10, 20 years we'll be here debating whether the new glass-eyed Ledger Joker with a voicebox will be really worth the 2K...

After talking to John. It looks like they all in with LOTR. Their license is China only so no sideshow but I am sure there’s a way to bring it here.*cough bbts cough*

If their License is China only that means a good 30-40% increase on the Price to get it here in Europe. if its gonna be 500 EUR then in the end it will end up 650 EUR+...

Hopefully GTW. I already have Asmus's Crown GTG, but if Queen's ends up being a significant improvement I'll probably upgrade nonetheless. Depending on Queen's price point, I'd probably upgrade most if not all of the Fellowship if offered—definitely Legolas and Boromir, and possibly Aragorn. I'd also be interested to see Queen take on Galadriel, Arwen, and Eowyn.

The good thing about competition is it forces other companies to up their games. I think Asmus would be well served producing upgrade head sculpts with high quality rooted hair for some of their existing figures, such as the Hobbits, Saruman and Eowyn. They could produce the Hobbits in Armor and Eowyn in Gown with new sculpts as the core products, then offer extra heads for those who want to buy separately.

I agree. I think there will always be a place for asmus regardless of how good queen might be (judging from their previous works). Unless the price difference is really small ($20-$50 which I doubt ), then asmus will be in trouble.

I'll admit I am a little surprised they got the GoT license. That show lost a lot of fans the past few years. Asmus has made some duds and some truly great figures in that line. Ned was middling even for the time, but now he's pretty dated. I want Ned( Winterfell and King Landing look), Robb, Ygritte and Oberyn. I'd like an updated early seasons version of Tyrion without the scar and beard. When the character was still good. Also, early seasons Cersei and a better version of Joffrey. Who knows though. I imagine they'll kick the line off with a widely popular character that Threezero didn't do a version of.

I'm curious about the LotR line as well. I'd love a great Strider, or hell, any version of Aragorn that looks good. Cause I gotta tell you, as much as I tried, I can't get down with any of those Asmus versions. They're all hideous. Like, wtf is this?

They’re not all bad. They have a few good ones but i I know what you mean. If they can’t compete with queens quality they should do it with price.

Wow the gap between that figure and say their Elrond sculpt is wide hard to think its the same company

"Cast it into the fire!"

I am happy with Asmus Crown GtG. Pictures indeed do not do him justice. So I do not think will upgrade to the QS one. However, if QS is all in LOTR, considering its crazy to try and get Asmus Gimli atm, and none of the rest of their releases I really like, then I would be all in with QS releases to complete the FOTR.

Paid €390 with shipping from KGHobby and skipped the import and vat (thanks to them marking down) for the Crown GtG. But I know what you mean as it happens with every order from SS. DHL hits hard when tax and vat come in. EU screws collectors and hobbyists badly.

Yeah, in pretty happy with the Crown series Gandalf. A few fixes and he's fantastic. I'm just hoping to pick up the stuff I missed or stuff I don't like how Asmus handled.

Yup, same here. I still hope Asmus may release updated versions that will be to my liking. Crown GtG and Gimli show they have the capacity to do it really well.

First shootings on hand
