now I'm off to the pub...

I've decided that I'm probably not going to get the WGP sculpt, so I thought I'd have another go at repainting Trevor's awesome SSC sculpt.

I see why. You got more likeness out of the SSC sculpt than the (very) rough paint-up of that new trad WGP sculpt.

I also sanded back some of the jowl area and extended the height of the hat a little and repainted that too. Lastly added a HT ribbon band over the hat, which works well.

The extension of the fedora behind that HT band was a great idea. I cast that hat thinking I was going to do that then gave up - should pull that out and finish it.

And you just used sandpaper on the lower cheeks/jowls?

My decision was more of a financial one really, however I'm not really feeling the trad sculpt - much prefer the smiling one.

I used a dremel on the jowls to get it to how I liked, then very fine sandpaper to sooth away the burr.

Gotta be honest, I still haven't seen a 1/6 sculpt that nails Indy. They've all come close in one way or another, but he is just so hard to get right. There are parts I like in each one, including the Medicom one, but none of them are there yet. Hopefully, we will get one, eventually.

Hey guys I just got my DX05 and I have some custom questions.

Is it possible to get the DX head onto a Rocky rubber muscle body? I want to put my DX head on my TOD body.

Then I want to put my custom painted SSC one onto the DX body. I am wondering what neck peg do I use to do that?

Thanks guys and keep the Indy love going!:hi5:

Looks great, but I wish those SSC "pearl" buttons could be dealt with. They used them over and over again and they would have looked great if they were for 1/6 granny sweaters.

Looking good!

I think I might add some sweat my TOD chest.

Thanks. Yeah those buttons are a bit of an eye sore. :lol

Thanks for the comments!

The gun belt is the one which comes with the HT DX.

The body is HT too, but with the arms swapped out with a narrow shoulder truetype arms.I'll try to get bigger pictures up later and identify the pistol.

I hear people doing this all the time but how do you do it?

It's not difficult but you have to cut off the muscle torso though.

Slice up the torso along the seam line under the arm and remove it like a vest. It helps to seperate the neckplug so that the rubber chest fits over the shoulders easier. The arm swap is a case of unscrewing the shoulder carriage and replacing the arms. Sounds convoluted but it is easy to do.

Yeah, thanks to you my indy also looks a lot better. Thanks again ;). I'll put an update on both indys soon.

Best,

Robert

Heres my current ToD custom. Added a clear coat "wet look" to him to give the sweat look and dirtied up the clothes. SS shirt. Rest is HT. Still building up the courage to add the cuts and bruises...

You should add any detailing (cuts/bruises/blood/dirt) before you varnish.
