How much ?
You should add any detailing (cuts/bruises/blood/dirt) before you varnish.
Thanks for the tip! I dont usually paint on my figures for this is a new process for me.
Well if you are not used to it then maybe the first layer of varnish will help. You can always wipe off the acrylic before it dries.
Thanks for another tip! Im nervous to do the cuts, blood, bruising etc to get it to look realistic. Any tips with that? Yours looks great btw!
Here is my update on my Tod and Raiders Indy's. Both are still WIP.
Way back, got help from Rory and Guyver1. Murderofcrows also gave me tips on the armswap on the ROTLA. Off course mike's sets on both of them.
About the blood, I mixed it with dark brown to get the old blood effect. Black tends to mess it up if you don't apply correctly. So a mixture of darkbrown and red. Then add the red like Rory said. (he also helped me with this back then, but I mixed up the workflow hehehe)
Best,
Robert
Get the smallest brush you can find and then mix a perfect blood red. Add a little black to it then dot the scars/cuts on, then go over this with the pure red. Then varnish...
Love that Rory. Can you take a picture from farther away? I'd like to see it like you see it.
Thanks man, here you go. There are more over on my collection thread..
Absolutely beautiful.
Now see, I think the farther back you go, into a nice wide shot like that, the sculpt really does look good -- although I know you put a lot of effort into fixing it up if I remember right. That sure looks like Ford there. Even the hat looks taller there the way you have it set. You didn't make it taller, did you?
