LEON. Creating the ultimate 1/6 figure. Help and tips thread.

An amazing movie and I know a lot of us are in the process of making 1/6 custom figures of this guy so I figured a thread for us to chat about it would be great. Tips and help is welcome as well as any pics of your so far stuff or what your thinking of buying. I haven't started mine as of yet because i waiting on the head , body and clothing ( can't wait ) but you guys are welcome to kick the thread off.

That's a TALL order my friend....I'm making one too, and he's a tough one to do because the best parts of him are the parts you might actually have to custom make; The leather ammo vest,PLANT, the toolbox, the sunglasses, the beanie cap(it's not a big floppy cap, it's actually small & tight on the skull)and of course little Natalie Portman(you gotta have her in the set).....I'm going to have to sculpt her head, since it's not likely there is prepubescent version of her floating around. THIS is a mighty task, but it brings me back to the days when Indiana Jones was the ultimate custom figure, sadly I think those days are almost over because of the Sideshow figure coming out(end of an era)

BTW,I have not found the right sunglasses yet....I'm using the DID round metal ones, they are good enough for now until I find or make a more accurate looking pair.

This is a project ive started and i can see it taking a very long time to finish. Like mindbook said the parts are difficult to come by and im going to have to make a leather vest and the plant which is a must.
Ive only just started with a pratice repaint.

Yeah , I can see this taking a long long time .
But it will be worth it.

Right I thought I would update you guys on what im gonna do and give you links to what I'm buying just to try and help you out with your customs.
Since I am going for the look of the swat shootout scene ( for now ) there will be no coat , glasses or hat. He wears a tight black jumper , black pants with straps that lead round into a triangular shape on the back.
And since he gets shot in his left shoulder I will be cutting a small hole in the jumper and painting on blood. And maybe a tiny amount of dirt and blood on the face. I will hopefully be using a muscle body if it doesn't look too big. This is reno and not arnie after all.
But since he was quite muscular , doing the situps everyday and all , I'm hoping it will look ok.
When I seen the great kitbashed blade on the custom gallery and noticed his jumper I knew I had to have it for my leon custom. It is not baggy ( but to be honest not that tight ). The creator of the custom , tnaig001 , informed me the jumper was from the hot toys first blood rambo figure. Thankyou.

Yes the jumper is red but thats nothing a bit of dye can't fix now is it ? .
For the pants I will be using ( just for now ) these bbi ones which do have the straps and apparently they go into the triangular shape according to the seller so its win win. I will get the link tomorrow as for some reason my ebay is acting up but I have these pictures saved for reference.
I always make a new file on my comp for every custom figure I am making and highly recommend to anyone to do this , it makes it much much easier.

I will be using a hot toys body so these pants will most likely be a little short but since his pants were as I mentioned before for some reason up his arse throughout the entire movie I think it a just add to the effect.
I will probably change alot of this stuff eventually and these clothes will be thrown with my collection of loose 1/6 stuff but for now they will do.
If you have any questions or think something may be wrong with my plan let me know , I will answer em asap.
I would love to hear what part of a plan anyone else has got at the minute for this guy. You know , share the ideas around , build the ultimate Leon figure until hot toys come to their senses !. .

Here is another version of Jean Reno that I am not familiar with(Dragon???).....I think the hair on top is a little too high for Leon, he sorta had a buzz cut. Nothing a little sand paper couldn't fix.

that is the one Les is going to be painting up for me in a few days , there is actually no hole for a body to fit and it needs a dremel for specifically what you want. Luckily Les can do that too . The ebay seller seems a nice enough guy and I really like the luck of that sculpt for the price !.

Theres the link to his sale , a great sculpt imo. With the likeness already then Les's brush I'm quite confident it will turn out a great head.
If your looking for one now I would recommend this one.

Yeah about the hair , I thought that too but after looking at the likeness again , I think he ahs the face all perfect , its just the right skinnyness ( if thats a real wor ). His cheeks seem hard to get right on sculpts.
After seeing this at that price I couldn't miss out.
Is there a few places that sell Leon heads regular , I could make a list at the top.

And why the hell a I still up , its 05:36 and I'm expecting a captain america pf at the door today lol.
Oh and rambo is out in the uk as of today , can't wait to see it later on.

Dragons Inspector Hubert (Wasabi) figure was pretty cool. Had a nice likeness and came with the huge revolver. I've thought about doing this too mine, but never got around to it.

I'd post mine in progress but I just packed him up since I'm moving. Found the glasses, the suspenders, the plant (dolls section on ebay), and the sculpt. That overcoat is the tricky part. Since you're not using it, not a problem, but if anyone else has a lead, post it! That shirt's tough, too, with the buttons at the top.

Yep, thats the one. I'd say $40 is a very good price for him, I've seen him sell for a lot more in the past. But with better Leon sculpts available he may have dropped a bit in price.

It is and i only got it because i needed a hot toys body, was'nt really intreatsed in the scuplt. But everytime i saw the head in the parts bin, the more i wanted to make this figure which i knew is a real pain for parts.

Thanks mindbook, not happy with the eyes ,those need more soul and the hair is a bit to shiny but i think ive got plenty of time to perfect this, i hoping to have him complete by the end of the year so lots of time. If you've got a list of parts your using it would be appreaciated.
