Then you have the ********* who has nothing to offer. They feel so bad cause it seems so unfair that someone can get such an overwhelming response to the enthusiast while nobody gives a crap about them. So they'll start crap hoping anyone can get ape ____ so that they can have any attention at all. They'll post things like Reeve on a wheelchair to try to get some attention. It will be harsh attention but they'll take it cause at least, somehow in their mind. Someone is paying attention to them. Their name is usually highly offensive upfront to harness that attention. Their name can be a villainous name, maybe something biblical or someone from twilight.

Nice. But seriously.. think about this. Let's say you have 100 random people. And for the sake of this example.. you have a head sculpt.

70 people love it.

30 people don't. And that varies from complete dislike to people who actually like it.. but see flaws in certain areas.

Do you really think it's accurate to say the 70 people who loved it (which also includes ALL the people who purchased the head sculpt) are unbiased and honest. And ALL 30 people who don't fawn over the head sculpt and the artist who made it are "Haters" "*********s" "Envious" etc. Does that sound realistic!?

Because that's essentially what happens. When's the last time you heard someone who loved something being accused of being a fake, *** kisser? Probably never right?

But it's routine for people to label people who don't fall in line with the general, popular opinion in a thread as "Haters" "*********s" "Envious" or whatever.

The fact is, not everyone is "Hating" when they state their opinion. And the funny thing is.. the same people who label people as such would have a completely different view (of the SAME exact person) if they would've fallen in line and just agreed with the majority, popular opinion. So that same person labeled as a "Hater" would've been labeled as "Right" if they would've lied and said "This is AWESOME!!!".

And devil, you're gonna try to make this into the "I'm just the victim" as I'm merely stating an opinion and the masses who likes the artist's work will of course gang up on me. Cmon man, you know that's not the case. If you've been following youll see theres opinions thrown all over the thread. You can try to play this off like it's your scenario when you know too well you're just trying to get a rise off someone. Like that guy who'll pretend to hate a popular song just because a lot of people like it.

I said that's how these threads work. But there's no "victim". Opinions only matter if you allow them to matter. That's generally my point.

Why care?

No one elses opinion should effect your own regarding something you like. Period.

So why be offended by a differing opinion? Who cares. I don't take anything on here seriously.. and I don't catch feelings or get offended. We're just talking here.. no more, no less.

I would believe the whole celebration argument a lot more if your guys' names weren't in them. If it was purely a tribute to Bobby and his work, then what does that have to do with ownership of the items? Could joe-blow who didn't buy (or even get a chance to) not have the signature if they were huge admirers of the sculpt? Does coming out with a set sig group with specific board member names deter that and promote the belief of elitism? Not implying that was the intention, nor trying to stir the pot, (I don't even have sigs turned on) just trying to figure out where these feelings are coming from.

I agree that it's not strictly about celebrating the artist. But that doesn't mean that it's elitism either. Elitism is defined as:

1: leadership or rule by an elite

2: the selectivity of the elite; especially : snobbery

Obviously 1 doesn't apply and I don't think we could call anything about these guys snobbery. Yes I believe that they are proud to tell the world that they have this grail of a collectable, but that doesn't mean that they somehow think they are better than anyone else in any way.

I have no problem with them enjoying the feeling of being part of an exclusive club. Exclusive is different than elite. It's a way for them to have a unique camaraderie.

Camaraderie is defined as: a spirit of friendly good-fellowship


Frankly it makes me sad to see some have changed their sig because of the opinions of a few sticks in the mud.

Worse for me. I was originally going to get it but apparently I said something that offended Bobby so I didn't get it.

On another note, the guys that I owe left, i have been experimenting
if it really makes a difference in quality or not , if it is so vast I can replace the heads I did.
but in reality I think it will be just small steps of improvement.
I do plan on taking this way more serious and way more realistic.
I have a custom piece for a board member with out makeup, it will be up to her if she wants to show it, but for now I still have growing to do in this field.

Wow, I've been watching all these pics go up, and I have to admit, I'm just blown away. Terrific work BobbyC! I've already emailed you with some questions, I suppose I'll wait to touch base with you until things quiet down. Did I read right though? Are you seriously gonna pull out a Reeves 1/6th scale portrait!!?? It's just blowing me away. Keep up all the stellar work. Can't wait to see what comes next.
