Check out Custommikey's review of this line. WE SHOULD BE GREATFUL WE AREN'T GETTING THIS FROM SIDESHOW.....

Oh boy!!!.I've only just managed to calm myself down from laughing so much at the two Legolas poses!. HYSTERICAL !!:mwaha :mwaha :mwaha
Worth checking out the link just for that.:D

Being serious for a moment. Seeing these makes you realise just how good the new Sideshow 12" really is. If Sideshow's Strider had been this bad then we really would have had something to complain about!.

Gandalf definitely needs to bleach his hair and beard a bit more doesn't he?.Waaaay to grey for Gandalf the White.

Mind you...don't know if it's just the way the pictures have been taken but Aragorn seems to have aged quite considerably as he doesn't seem too far behind Gandalf in the old grey stakes.

Yeah. Really regretting that purchase. I have since torn all of these apart and used them for customs. You can check out Gandalf in the Custom Galleries.

The camera I was using at the time wasn't the b est quality, nor was the lighting I used, but they are reasonabaly accurate pics.

The Legolas nude pics were meant to show off the articulation of the body, but I couldn't resist having him give a bit of a show. Look behind him to see Strider's reaction...:google

Wow, I can't believe you paid $58*3 + shipping for those!:horror

They truly are horrible!

Grassy-ass for that info. They just look terrible! I wouldn't even give them to my suckretary for suckretary's day...

anyone who has seen the DID figures in person will tell you that the costumes are just about perfect. sure the sculpts are off, but so is sideshow's version of aragorn.

i have no doubts that sideshow CAN do better sculpts than DID has produced for this line, but i really will be suprised if sideshow's costumes and weapons can top the DID versions. look at the lace up boots on gandalf. i doubt sideshow will do something like that, or the real metal sowards.

i have all 6 did figures, and other than the headsculpts being off, and the hobbits being too tall, these are quite nice. welcome to last year.:naughty

Yes, well keep in mind that I fell victim to some sweet preview pics that showed them in the absolute best light possible. The costumes and accessories are all very impressive. Maybe I'll do comparison pics when my SSC Strider comes. Of course, I'd have to compare them to my repainted, re-stitched, and re-bodied DiD Strider.

I don't. Looking at SS costume on Aragorn it looks way better than the DID one IMO. So I have no doubts that SS versions will just plain kick DIDs ass in that regard and in likeness for the most part. As far as the metal swords well I don't really give a rats whazoo if they come with that or not.

I got the DID figures recently at half off thanks to a fellow board member's posting. I plan to get two SS legolas, gandalfs, striders and use one for the DID costumes and accessories, hoping they will swap well and their sizes are consistent. The head sculpts are indeed terrible, although I think Legolas isn't that bad on the DID figure, hope SS will do one better. Still waiting for the DID figures to arrive, but I am looking forward to the metal swords and accessories. Any excuse to spend money!

keep in mind you're comparing a beautifully photographed sideshow prototype to a crappy photo of the DID aragorn.

let's just wait untill the sideshow version is in out grimey little hands before we proclaim them best thing ever. you never know, the final version of aragorn may look like he's wearing short sleeves like the scarface figure.:google

jlcmsu, how can you compare the two when you have only seen photos of each, and the DiD ones are grainy to.
Can you explain further why the SS Aragorn costuming is better, in your opinion.

I have the DiD figures too and it's easy to tell the SSC's Aragorn costuming will be superior. But the DiD figures are still far superior to Toybiz's offerings of the same characters (except Gimli, Toybiz's Gimli is pretty decent).

Your right. The final version of Aragorn from SS could come out looking not so hot. I just don't think that's gonna be the case.

Well, with the DID I think you get a good enough idea that these aren't so hot. They costuming looks to be pretty good but overall I don't think it's that great. As to why I think the SS version will be better. Knowing the quality product SS puts out in the 5 12" figures I own I have no problem just basing on that alone. LOTR and SW are two lines I believe SS will do everything and then some to make sure are prefect because they know how bitchy we can be with these lines. :wacky
