12" SS RotLA Indy Special Edition?

Any info on this? The guy's saying it was a special edition for Canadian retailers. Sharp-looking figure, but it looks like a custom.

Definitely looks like a custom to me. Did he just find this random photo of Indy together with the environment and not realize the Indy figure was customized?

IF the Canadian retailer took it upon himself to package the Indy with the idol environment, then I would guess that the Indy figure is the regular one Sideshow put out and not the one pictured in the auction.

Maybe someone here recognizes the custom work...?

It looks like the exact same setup as Small Studios' auction from a few months ago.

That is warrior038's custom Indy. I think that guy just pulled that still from here (or somewhere else).

Also, the world is too small, and, let's face it, were all Indy geeks (especially me), we would have know about a "Canadian" exclusive. This is just some ________ who decided to use one of our members artistry to sell his 1/6th Indy and his Belloq exclusive Idol Chamber on eBay.

This is not special ... Chrissy Chau (right now) and Kim Novak ("Vertigo" era) are special. This is just some eBay sales ______.

He's been running that same auction for months.

When I first saw it he'd listed it in the UK, as he said he was over here, but was returning to Canada shortly after the end of the auction.

Well hell, has anyone contacted this guy? If that's the actual figure that comes with the set, the price ain't bad if it has an all-star lineup of contributions.

I contacted him.. and advised him that the figure in his photo was a custom... that is NOT the figure he is selling.. (oops).. here is his answer to me :

My most sincere apologies. I will take the photo off. I thought the belt is the same as the one on the usual item. The item, i.e. Indy plus the Idol Chamber was really only for the Canadian market. You can check with Sideshow. Do you know where I can find a photo of the idol chamber on its own? I don't want to open mine. Please help me. Thanks.

Instead of just gossiping about it here, I reported it to both ebay and Sideshow so we'll see what happens.

I bought the item from Trost Distribution who are the Sideshow Distributors in Canada. Sideshow did sell it like that in Canada. Phone them and mention Trost selling item number 3905A.

We'll see. There are so many Canadian collectors here on the boards we'd have heard about it. Still though, there's no mention of custom parts either, which added to my suspicions. We all know the base was Belloq's Ex and the Ex Indy came with the torch and dart (which aren't offered).

The only other question would be to ask if Sideshow isn't above bundling the regular ROTLA Indy with the Belloq Ex to empty the warehouse. Maybe ask to see a pic of the bottom of the dio? "Canada Exclusive" would be painted there at least. I doubt it though, I think this fella's a turkey.
