Making a knight from the siege of Acre, still lots to do, but I'm going to try and make what I can myself

heater shields all I've I've done so far 👍

Made a pair of hose and some braies today also heavily dremmeled the body down, I'm hoping it helps the figure look less bulky once everything's on, using a coomodel bod

It's great work here. Lots of talent you have for sure. Keep us posted and thanks for sharing.

For inspiration, my friend. Look forward to your work.

Oh dang that's cool 🤘🤘 weathered the surcoat and test fitted it today and made and weathered a pair of wooden ailettes, that's all I can do for now until I get more parts but I don't think I'll need to make anything else from scratch (still gotta put the fake nails on the inside of the ailettes but I ran out of glue)

i tried not to go overboard with the weathering, didn't want the figure to be filthy but more sort of a few small dirt marks and alot of staining

Wanted some fancy spurs, the limtoys Arthur Morgan ones were perfect, just gave them a wash and dry brush

i genuinely hate that I didn't get the rounded cross on the pommel symmetrical but I keep looking at surviving swords from the mediaeval times and their engravings are also not symmetrical so I'll keep telling myself it's fine 😅.I basically just sanded the whole thing to bare metal using multiple grits and did the reshaping and cross on the pommel and reshaping the hilt by hand I sort of made it slightly angular (the pommel) I guess ? And on the flat edges I sanded in a little bit so each angle was curved ? I don't know how else to explain it but it's basically a little angular I also purposefully didn't wait inbetween Coates whilst painting the handle so it had texture I could dry brush over. I'm using a coomodel helmet before:

again I took off all the paint, I also took off all the bolts ? And added new ones in more accurate places, I also used a pin vice to add vent holes on one side and I was pretty rough with cleaning it up, I purposely left alot of dents and scratches, I just thought that it being the helmet it's probably have the most wear on it but I mainly didn't want the rust on it that coomodel had out on it, I also weathered the metal on both the sword and helmet using a trick I found that I've been using for a few years, I cover the whole thing in a layer of Gundam real touch marker, I used the Gray 3 but it's basically black, I leave it for a while and then just wipe it off with paper towel it leaves sort of abstain on the metal and darkens all the wear, just for reference here's the helmet before doing the Gundam marker

weather or not any of this is an improvement I honestly don't know 🤣I may have went a little overboard on the helmet wear ? Opinion please guys ?

could probably already tell I chose my knight to be from the order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem who fought in the siege of Acre in the 13th century which is what I went for, they were known to have members with leprosy so I went with a Jonah Hex head repainted by t.bowen
IMG_20231213_200804_HDR~2.jpg
also had to get the layers as right as possible

still got a few things to do, mainly weather the belts, and just a question for anyone looking, should I remove the ties around the wrist part of the mail and just have the elbow ties ? Does it look weird ?
