Han Solo ANH Elite Edition Blaster!

Quoted from Bryan of MR over at RS Boards:

As some of you may know, our original LE was made froma Denix, which is a replica of a Mauser. Now, the new EE, based on the new information that we have is based on the Broomhandle Mauser! So, this one is accurate to the actual filming prop. Also, the scope will be 'see through" and the handle will be made from wood instead of plastic.

Also, there has been a lot of discussion of the "Antennae" detail behind the suppressors. After a lot of investigative interviews, we have determined that they were there in pre-production but were no longer there in the actual filming. The Merr Sonn casting was done on the pre-production prop. However, the first time the gun was fired, it most likely fell off from the recoil. That is why it is not seen in the screen grabs that all of you have! This we think that this also explains the infamous "mystery Disk"

Therefore, we will be supplyng this piece with the prop. You have the choice to display it as either the pre-production version or the one seen on screen, with it missing!

Acualy it was originally scheduled for June, but we decided to revise the design to have a working hammer! So, this has delayed a little. We will let you know when we have a date to release!

**Update: It will be weathered! Not pristine.

This baby is going to be sweet.

yeah, it does sound sweet, but man is it gonna make even more people angry.

definitely sounds sweet, but I can see how the people who paid an obese amount of money for the LE would be upset. I'm definitely thinking of getting this to go with the Falcon next year. Here's hoping they release Chewie's bowcaster, then my display will be set.

i think people should have learnt by now how MR operates.

so they should all not buy MR products, cos there will be another new edition out next year - UE ultimate edition that is! hopefully this will be the last.

As a relative newcomer to MR collecting this is the first announcement of a new product that has really effected me as I just bought the LE Han blaster. But I don't know that I'm going to be that put out by this, unless I see the EE and it completely blows the LE away. Which I think will be difficult because I'm very happy with the LE.

So buy what you like and don't try to be a completist on MR prop replicas.

Well, it looks like I am lucky that I haven't gotten into buying stuff from MR. I would certainly be upset by this. It's bad enough when I get suckered into buying a DVD twice when an Ultimate Limited Collector's Special Edition of "The Three Amigos" comes out. I would be positively irate if they pulled the same thing with an expensive collectible item, long after the original was released.

Tonight, I vow never to suckle at the teat of Master Replicas.

Have you ever played with an FX MR lightsaber? NO? Well don't make that promise so lightly. Those things are more addictive than crack.

I won one. It was fun at first, but now it just stand in the corner.

That is lame, it the same thing over and over. I have some helmets from MR but I think I'm done with them. Its like they got no new ideas.

Agree. I never cared for collecting saber hilts. But when they came out with the FX's, I figured yea I'll get a Vader one and be done. LOL right, I have 5 of them. They are sooooo fun to play with. My cat is scared of them heheh.

I'm glad I gave up on MR years ago. I've sold off all my MR replicas with the exception of my Mace Windu Signature Edition and the Thermal Detonator Signature Edition.

The Mace SE has a current market value of about $1400. Although I consider the Mace Windu SE the actual first Elite edition saber, I'm sure MR will capitalize on it's high demand and find some way to improve upon it's 24kt gold finish to release an Elite version.

I don't really understand why everyone is so upset over this. If you have the LE and don't want the EE, then keep it.

If you want the EE, then dump your LE on Ebay, use the proceeds to buy the EE, and put $400 or so in your pocket.

The LE is highly inaccurate from what I've read about it. Several RPF members contributed research and new designs to the new version, so it should be incredible when released. You can read more about the process here:

wait a minute, if the 2006 MR collector's society product is the blaster, then what about the Mace Windu Lightsaber Scaled Replica as mentioned in the MR newsletter? confused

The Mace scaled saber is free with the collector's society kit.

The blaster is available only for CS members to purchase. The blaster will probably be $700 or so (that's a complete guess on my part), whereas the mace is included free with every membership as a "bonus."
