2007- Sideshow's year of A NEW HOPE?

Since 2007 marks the 30th Anniversary of the original film in the saga, can we expect 1/6th scale versions of Han, Luke, Leia, Ben and Vader, based on their appearances in that first film?
I know we didn't get any recently because of the PF figures, but does 2007 look like they may actually be happening?

I would think that's a given. I expect the whole gang, including the droids, Chewie, and Yoda (even if it takes until SDCC next year for the announcement). I can't see a Star Wars line going a full 2 years without these characters.

Heeeeelllll yeah! Tarkin, Ben, Stormtroopers, Leia with buns (hair not rear) the whole deal man, some ofmy fav. moments. True, ROTJ is MY personal fav. ANH always sparks feelings.

SSC will still need variety, though. I say 50% ANH figures with the remaining 50% split between the other 5 films would be more than cool.

Considering we already have Jabba, Leia as Boushh and Plo Koon scheduled for the 1st qtr. of '07, it doesn't look like ANH will be the focus for SSC. I certainly don't see them releasing two Leia's in the same year, so I doubt we'll be seeing an ANH version of her next year. My best guesses would be Vader, Ben, Luke and a stormtrooper.

Well, considering we may not see any armored characters (including Vader) until 2008 I would keep it to more realistic possibilities, like:

TARKIN
TUSKEN RAIDER
REBEL FLEET TROOPER
GREEDO

Etc.

Perhaps they can figure out Chewie by then as well... maybe even both droids. That would be awesome. :chew

Sideshow's got to get some armored characters out next year, they can't keep putting that off forever. Even Star Wars fans are going to get tired of robes eventually.

Well it isn't like 1/6 is the only scale SS makes figures in. I seem to remember a certain Bounty Hunter being announced in a format that would do quite nicely for an Imperial Stormtrooper....

The military line needs to start next year. I want Sideshow to release a stormtrooper next year. They can release a stormy and then make a ROTS clone sculpt and issue the 501st Trooper next year with the Utaupa and Shock coming in the following years. Also the Stormtrooper could be easily made into Han and Luke in Stormtrooper disguise and then the sculpt could be used for Sandtroopers. I wouldnt mind for the Orange to be the regular release and then have a special two pack from Sideshow of the black and white one, but thats probably a few years away though.
I think that next year will be big for OT.

Will 2007 be a year where we see more LOTR figures from both lines?

The LOTR lines will continue, and things are moving along nicely, but both lines will continue at a fairly relaxed pace. The costume designs have proven to be very time consuming, and our design and development teams have really been challenged with each of the LOTR characters tackled so far. It just takes time to get them right!

If I just get these two next year(along with Jabba & the bunch) I would be happy!
