I'm new on here so I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but does anyone know of any 1:5 or 1:4 scale Achilles statues other than the ones from ARH or if anyone is going to be releasing one? The Achilles statues by ARH are alright, but I was hoping for an Achilles that was designed after the character played by Brad Pitt. I don't understand why Sideshow hasn't released their own Achilles statue designed after the movie Troy . . . surely it would sell - their would probably be a lot of interested female collectors as well. As far as I know there has never been a statue character designed after Brad Pitt.

Sideshow made a Perseus statue after the recent Clash Of The Titians after the actor Sam Worthington and a Dastan was made after the movie Prince of Persia after the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Personally I liked the movie Troy better than either and I would guess that would be the general feeling out there. As such, I don't know why Sideshow hasn't made their own Achilles? It would be hard to believe it is a license issue.

Maybe the Troy license wouldn't be cost-prohibitive, but Brad Pitt's likeness rights could be. And I don't know about anyone else, but if I were going to add an Achilles statue to my collection, I'd prefer to have a classical take on the character rather than something based on a mediocre movie.

I know what you mean. The movie didn't do super well in North America, although it did do reasonably well in Europe from what I have heard. That being said I thought the new Clash Of The Titans was a joke other than the special effects and the Prince of Persia was okay I guess but nothing to write home about and Sideshow statues where made for those movies. Troy had it's issues with character development etc. but I still liked it better than the former 2 movies mentioned. If nothing else the battle scenes in Troy were pretty good and Achilles fighting abilities were well portrayed I thought, but to each there own.

I never considered Brad Pitt may have likeness rights for a character he played in a movie, but I suppose it is possible. There is this miniature Achilles statue on ebay but the price is probably beyond most people means.
