Happy Birthday Adam West... he's 83 today! This blows my mind I was born the year Batman went on air 1966 for DesiLu productions (Lucy & Ricky). Hope Adam has a great day and many more!!! POW! ZAP! BANG!

Re: Adam West: 1966 Batman actor

Whew. At first I thought this was a RIP thread. I saw "Adam West: 1966 Batman actor . . ." and I instantly thought ". . . dies".

I make it a point to watch the old Batman reruns whenever I get the chance. I love the movie with Batman running around the pier with the bomb and saying "Some days, you just can't get rid of a bomb."

GREAT stuff!

And a happy Birthday to him.

I felt kinda bad for Adam West...

I can recall three times when he voiced a character refusing to let go of one acting job.

Johnny Bravo, he basically played himself but as a crime fighter (batman anyone?)

Kim possible, he voiced Timothy North a man who lost his mind and thought he was his character the fearless ferret (a feretty batman)

BTAS, he voiced simon trent a washed-up penniless actor he couldn't get jobs anymore after being typecast as The Gray Ghost a TV crimefighter. (batman)

Notice a pattern, it must've felt so demeaning to basically play himself but in a negative typecast way.

Another one was Fairly Odd Parents where he played a has been superhero named Catman.

But the Grey Ghost appearance in BTAS is legendary. He was the ____ing man and even Batman was a fan. Loved those episodes.
