Does anyone know where to get decent affordable plastic display cases similar to the ones shown here:
ExpoCase? Plastic Doll Display Case 11"x11"x23"
These are like a acetate or acrylic (?) type plastic that fold flat and come in a few different sizes (ideally I would have them wider than what you see available). They come with a lid and base. A decent alternative to keep dust off you stuff. But I can't seem to find any that are very affordable.

They also have these Doll Safe cases that are cheaper but too small for my needs.

You can get very inexpensive smaller cases at Michael's >$20. They are simple, semi-sealed, however only museum poses allowable with the internal dimensions.

The only cases I've seen at Michael are the hard acrylic cases, the largest being able to fit a football helmet, and not too cheap.

Ive seen some guys use inexpensive plastic fish tanks as display cases. Maybe this could be an idea.

Well I was just wondering specifically if these collapsible soft plastic cases, or something similar, seen in my first post, are available elsewhere for a better price.

Sean

I'm afraid that would be way more expensive (and way more effort) than the cases I linked to originally. Plastic sheets run about $25 each here (and they only come in certain sizes).

How large is one of those $25 sheets? If a few boxes can be made from it it'll be worth the expense.

Not that big. Just a couple of feet wide. In any case I'd hoped there was a source for these specific types of collapsible flexible plastic cases that I referenced in my first post. Maybe not. :(

Acrylic of that thickness and clarity isn't as cheap as most people would understandably perceive it to be. Add to that the cutting and joining and it quickly adds up to a product that doesn't seem good value - especially to 1/6 collectors who generally want more than just one or two 'hero' display pieces.

Well, again- see my first post. I think people are misunderstanding what I am after. These cases are soft plastic that fold flat. Not the rigid acrylic cases you'd find in Michael's, etc. These cases are made from plastic similar to what you'd see in a packaged item you buy from a store. The ones I linked to are about $24 each from the website in my first post. I was just wondering if there was any other online store that sold similar cases that had better prices.

Simple answer is no, sorry. I look at similar boxes from time to time, and at $25 a pop these are the cheapest I've seen. But they look cheap too - that flexible plastic will need to be lit just right, otherwise you'll see more reflection than figure.

Hey guys! Stumbled across this thread and thought I'd chime in. I am a product designer and I am developing case for this specific issue. I too couldn't find an afford/high quality case for my figures so I thought I could apply my know how and resources to source one out. I'm actually in the final stages of the main prototype and have it all priced out with materials. Sometime next week I am going to put pictures up on the forum showcasing them and show how versatile they are. Thanks!

Looking forward to seeing what you have to offer.

Wow, very exciting, a lot of people could appreciate something you can fold up and move easily, be cost effective and sturdy. Please also consider the 1/4 scale market.
