Hello everyone,

Now, that I've already cast 4 figures, I want to share these here too. As a big fan of the first Alien movie I started bronze casting a figure I sculpted this year. I want to cast a full number of 10. Every figure is based on the same sculpt and is resculpted more or less within the bronze casting process. I already started a thread at the RPF a while ago, so if you are interested in the whole process, just have a look there. Here's the link:

I know there are some real specialists of the Alien- franchise around here, so I am interested of what you think of these.

some of them got cast in stainless steel teeth.

I've made some bronze aliens around ten years ago and had a thread here back than (unfortunately its gone, since the update of sideshowcollectors a while ago), so some of you might remember me. Looking back to these old figures, I've made, there are worlds between them and the new ones.

Hope you like the new ones,

Re: Bronze cast Alien

Beautiful work! I especially like how you've done the arms on the crouching pose. Looks more dynamic than splaying them straight out.

Re: Bronze cast Alien

Beautiful stuff.
The first one reminds me of the SEGA statue (at least I think it was SEGA, or something similar), which was based on an old model kit, if I'm not mistaken.
Anyway, these look really nice!

Love your work man!
Some of them give me a bit of a Richard Corben vibe (he illustrated one of Dark Horse's comics, great story BTW), and some give me a Maya sculpture vibe. Very cool, congratulations!

Thank you very much!
The Maya-sculpture comparison is nice. I also often thought the static bronze aliens got something of an archaic statue from greek, but the pose is kind of static, in both types of statues. I like that, because it makes the bronze aliens more arty :lol But I am also a fan of the Museum Big Chap figures.

Thank you!

Here are some Pictures of Nr. 8:

Nr. 9 is done. This Projekt is close to the end now :)

here I tried to make the Big Chap with closed lips like in this Set-Photo:

The teeth are stainless steel placed in the mold so they are covered with bronze. Then, I filed the bronze down to the teeth so that there is a contrast of the colour between the two materials now. Maybe it looks a little bit like the transparent lips of the Alien.

Thank you very much. Yes, I wonder myself, that there are still so many unknown photos from the first movie flying around.

Finally I finished the last one of the series. Number 10/10. Really a nice finish for the whole project. I really like how this one came out.
