I'm going with Dutch's team.

The Marines were too flaky and relied too much on their firepower.

Going with Dutch.

The Colonial Marines were all wiped out. Well not Hicks, but he was a gimp.

Hmmmmm. Smart gun(s) vs. mini gun? Interesting.

Dutch's team FTW. They were real operators, Colonial Marines (despite being "bad hombres" as described by Burke) could have been anyone that enlisted.

Besides, any military team that uses military jargon INCORRRECTLY as Hudson did when he yelled "FIRE IN THE HOLE" when there was a fire in the APC automatically loses. I blame Cameron.

That's too real. Aside from Hicks, no one really stuck out as truly capable.

Hudson was the biggest offender. Poncho got his ribs crushed and still didn't give up.

They also disobeyed orders and started firing in the coolant towers. Dutch's team did everything to the letter.

Semi off-topic, I was going to post something else in support of the Rescue Team (but decided not to) so I Wikied Aliens to see if I could get the correct quote I wanted to use. Man, I didn't know that James Remar was originally cast as Hicks and was replaced by Michael Bien a week after filming started.

Even though I love Aliens WAY more than I do predator........Dutch's team every time. Special Forces will always beat out regular forces anytime. I mean Vasquez and Drake were only there to avoid Jail time. Who knows what the other marines choices were.

I never knew that. I'm glad they went with what we got.

Me too, on both counts. Remar is/was good in certain things, but Biehn was great as the quiet/reserved Hicks. Plus he and Cameron had history together from The Terminator.

From Wiki:

Biehn was hastily cast a week after filming had commenced, and thus was not present for the military training that the other actors playing marines went through[11] James Remar was originally cast as Hicks but left the project over creative differences with Cameron.[12] In an interview on episode #128 of the Sidebar podcast, Remar stated that he was replaced due to being fired after he was arrested for drug possession. Only a few shots of him remain in the film, which is where the team first enters the alien hive, only his back is seen. This was because those sequences were too expensive to re-shoot.[13]
