I'm going with Dutch's team.
The Marines were too flaky and relied too much on their firepower.
Going with Dutch.
The Colonial Marines were all wiped out. Well not Hicks, but he was a gimp.
Hmmmmm. Smart gun(s) vs. mini gun? Interesting.
Dutch's team FTW. They were real operators, Colonial Marines (despite being "bad hombres" as described by Burke) could have been anyone that enlisted.
Besides, any military team that uses military jargon INCORRRECTLY as Hudson did when he yelled "FIRE IN THE HOLE" when there was a fire in the APC automatically loses. I blame Cameron.
Hudson was the biggest offender. Poncho got his ribs crushed and still didn't give up.
They also disobeyed orders and started firing in the coolant towers. Dutch's team did everything to the letter.
Hicks too "I like to keep this handy, for close encounters"
I never knew that. I'm glad they went with what we got.
Biehn was hastily cast a week after filming had commenced, and thus was not present for the military training that the other actors playing marines went through[11] James Remar was originally cast as Hicks but left the project over creative differences with Cameron.[12] In an interview on episode #128 of the Sidebar podcast, Remar stated that he was replaced due to being fired after he was arrested for drug possession. Only a few shots of him remain in the film, which is where the team first enters the alien hive, only his back is seen. This was because those sequences were too expensive to re-shoot.[13]
To his credit, a 12 gauge isn't going to go through any of the vital areas I don't believe.
