Probably a marketing ploy to create hype around the X-Men line.

I just started watching the replay for Mondo’s own livestream for the figure, which i think went live a half dozen hours after the figure sold out

they’re saying Storm is leading in the poll of what figure should be done next (after the ones they’ve already announced).
Where is this poll?? Need to add some love for Jean!

What figures do they already have planned before Storm?
Cyclops is next. They haven't said who comes after him yet.

It was in the livestream chat. Sinister, Apocalypse, Nightcrawler or Storm.

4th - Sinister 12%
3rd - Apocalypse 17%
2nd - Nightcrawler 24%
1st - Storm 48%
They were also joking around (when answering a live chat question, i think if there were any “limits” with this X-men line), spitballing about a 1/6 Blackbird, Jean Grey with a large Phoenix effect, and the Sentinels.

it got half serious for a moment when discussing Sentinel, one of the guys said it might be between 2 to 3 feet because it appeared to be different heights depending on the episode of the animated series.

Watched the recording of the live stream yesterday and many people were asking questions or commenting on the limited edition... Ie why 3 per address, only 1000, restock please, why it wasn't a timed edition etc...

Of course they didn't respond on these comments or questions at all despite answering other questions from the live chat. It would have been nice for them to have responded to those questions even if they don't have an answer for them. They should have addressed them even if we know they won't really provide any real answers...them ignoring those questions wasn't the best.

So does thus mean Sideshow won’t be selling the exclusive version?

The exclusives are only on Mondoshop and are either limited time or quantity.

Will Sideshow (or other retailers) carry the Standard Rogue?

Other stores used to carry Mondo items fairly quickly after product launches but there seems to be a longer delay lately - Phantasm from BTAS took months before Sideshow got them for PO.

I’m willing to pay double or whatever the aftermarket price is for the EX version but I also want a Standard version (to use all the EX accessories and heads) - prefer to buy elsewhere (since Mondo charges tax).

But I found this interesting on Twitter - is Mondo trying to create FOMO or just being coy with their words by saying even the Standard Rogue is “limited.”

I guess every figure is “limited,” even if a million are produced. :lol

People are dumb. If they don't say it's limited (or say "It's not a limited edition"), then it sells out, people will come back and say "Why is it sold out, you said it wasn't a limited edition"

They answered the question the best way they could. It's a weird question, frankly. Is homey thinking that they'll just make an infinite number of Rogue figures?

There's no action figure or collectible that's produced as an 'open pre-order.' I could just as easily interpret an 'open pre-order' as something that's open for a limited time, and they produce as many as they have orders for ... which is what Mondo calls a "timed edition".

To be fair, it's been 3 per address for every LE figure they've done so far. Rogue definitely seems to have had way more hype around her compared to the rest. I've never seen the past LE versions sell out in 4 minutes. They're usually up for a few hours. Even the SDCC variants stayed up for a long time. I think Rogue had a lot more eyes and attention compared to the others.

Yeah, it would have been nice if Mondo responded at the top of the livestream to address the elephant in the room to either be transparent or control the narrative.

I wonder if the 1,000 Rogues question will be asked when the Mondo reps are guests on other shows like Toy Anxiety.

Took me a day but I’m finally over it :lol - they’re just figures, 1st world problems. In this hobby, you win some and you lose some.

Maybe I’ll cut a preorder or two of other borderline figures I want (like HT BatFleck 2.0) to cover the flipper markup I’ll be paying Flip-Or Frank for Rogue on eBay. :lol

Agreed there will always be a limit on the product. Perhaps a better question would be that once this batch sells out, is there a chance that it will be reissued or perhaps retailers will have their chance to sell it.

I've seen the regular mondo she-ra go up recently for pre-order at some Canadian retailers.

Ya it has been ..I think people questioned it cause they were only making 1000 and people knew this would be very popular.

As I said, they should have gone with a timed edition instead and have it run for a week or 2. That way if anyone misses it..they really can't complain...

I hope the other shows will ask that question to the mondo reps. A good question posted on the live blog was how do they decide between making a product a limited run vs timed edition run? They didn't even want to answer that...so they totally stayed away from the elephant in the room
