completely wrong thread , really sorry , delete or move to custo gallery if possible please !!

Just got this sculpt of of ebay to make an Edward Norton american history x figure. No i not racist . I just think it was a great movie and I'm sure alot of you will agree with me.

I was wondering what you guys would recommend , to me the most memorable parts of the movie are the prison parts and the first scene with the infamous kurb stomp ( gears style ). Plus all the other scenes in the movie show Edward with hair!.
So its gonna have to be the first part for me. I am gonna purchase a hot toys muscle body so this guy is gonna be topless. The first thing I need help with is tattoos!!.
I have never attempted them properly and since the hot toys muscle bodys can go for a pretty penny , I don't wanna mess up !!.

As you can see there is the swastika which will most likely be the most challenging and the wrist barbed wire stuff. He also has a tattoo on his shoulder but until I get the dvd out for some screen caps I will leave it for now.
Would you pen these in or use paint , I used a pen for my xxx custom neck tattoo and it turned out quite nice !. But this is more expensive and risky.
If any of you guys have any experience or links to help with tattoos on figures
it would be greatly appreciated if you could post up a reply or shoot me a pm.

Head sculpt looks great!!!! And American History X is one of my favorite movies, but I dont see the picture above translating to a figure very well.

Fisrt the Hot Toys muscle body will be WAY to big for Norton. Also if you use the muscle body paint does not stick very good on the rubber, which would make the tattoos look pretty bad.

I would suggest you go with a regular body, but then you will have all the exposed joints.

I am very interested to see what you come up with, I have long wanted a Norton figure from this movie.

Where is that head sculpt from by the way?

Its such a shame there wern't different muscle sizes on the bodies , it really gets to me that .
The sculpt is from the infamous ebay seller. Very cheap too imo. As soon as I saw the sculpt I had to pick it up. $35.00 painted up and her paint jobs are quite good. A great deal for me !. I would get one if you liked the movie , its always a nice project to take on.
I may have to get a normal body and just give him a white shirt , I just feel the tattoos really give him a story and well you know who he is.

I'd suggest decals for the tats. You can get decal paper and just print them up on your inkjet printer.

Thats a good idea. They may do better on a muscle body than paint too.

Though I still think a muscle body is way to big for Norton.

honestly man , I know what your saying as I thought exactly the same , I just don't think he can have a skinny body no way. In the scene when he tenses he is real big !!

Hot Toys true type body would work if you put a shirt on him. If that bosy can be used for Superman, no reason it can't be used for Norton.

Granted you wont get the definition with the tru type, but I think it could work.

I may stick a white shirt on him but still put the tattoos on him so hopefully you can see the faintly through it. Then stick the ( was it a jacket or another shirt ) down his pants slightly and leave them sticking out. This figure could look awesome either way. I'm really looking forward to this project. Still got leon and van damme to do too. I should open a thread just fot the lot when the main parts are done.

I thought of this too , but sadly every scene he wore that top in was when he had the damn hair !!!! ( or so I think ).
I need to watch the movie again to let it all sink in and get to grips with whats what.
The true type is a good idea I think , the prison outfit is also another way of doing it. I may make a few costumes for him and see which one I like best.
