Is anyone interested in doing their own animation or 3d art. Here are some good sites with FREE software:
https://www.daz3d.com/
https://www.blender.org/

If your interested there are tons of tutorials. Also check out the galleries on these sites. The stuff they did is amazing.

And if you are interested in creating your own games. Check this site out:

I have only toyed with them here and there. Never did anything worth saving. You should post some of your stuff.

Here's a few things I've done:

I also have this Cell-Shaded animation I did last semester:

All of these are done with 3ds Max

Those are incredible. Are you professional or hobbiest? I ask becuase 3ds Max is not for the light in the pocket. I have always wanted to buy it but I don't have 10k laying around to get it. Can't hide that purchase from the wife. LOL!

I started off as a hobbyist but I'm at college learning animation. And it's not too expensive, a full commercial copy is $3,500, but for students it's much cheaper at around $350. Maya Unlimited is around $350 for students also.

Really. I am a student taking web development. How do I go about getting a student version? Do I do it through their site or can I go to someplace like Journeyed.com?

Journeyed or studica.com

Usually you just take a scan of like your schedule (with a date, just as verification, it doesn't matter if you're an animation major) or ID and then upload it and you'll get an email shortly afterwards saying if it's accepted then you can get the student discounts. I get my software from studica.com
