Any chance of Sideshow doing a Beta Ray Bill?

So I'm going back and forth on the soon-to-be-released Bowen BRB.
I love the character, and I think the sculpt is pretty nice, thing is I just don't have a ton of Bowen in my collection, so this would definitely not be in scale with my collection.

I could pass on it knowing Sideshow was doing one but I haven't heard anything.

Anyone know if this character has ever been addressed?

Very low, be my guess. If he were female, the chances would be much higher, even with that face

One good thing about Bowen is selection of characters. You never know, but seeing as how Sideshow still hasn't gotten around to getting decent PF/Comiquettes of iconic characters like Hawkeye, Giant/Ant Man, Human Torch, Mr. Fantastic, etc., and since he isn't exactly a huge fan favorite a la Deadpool, I don't think Beta Ray is gonna pop up anytime soon.

don't recall anything 100% confirmed in the Q&A's, but even if it was, i'm sure they'd of said "it's in the works" or "what a great idea and we'll pass it along to our design team"

Ahh, cool, well I guess since the pricetag isnt too horrible I may hang onto my order just to have the character in my collection.

You have plenty of time to think it over as Bowen usually is behind with their quoted release dates by 2-4 months.

Out of all the recent statues Bowen has released this is one of my favorites, I can't wait to have it next to my museum Thor.

Thor is going to get a lot of attention over the next couple of years from licensees due to the movie. That will spill into comic versions as well. The best shot at a BRB is right now.

Wow great thread I have been pondering the exact same thing, I have a flex on beta ray through sideshow, and it will be my first Bowen. Would love to see sideshow make a premium format.

At first I was wondering if SS could kill two birds with one stone; it'll have have to be comiquette since there's already a Thor PF... was thinking they could make the Thor comiquette with an EX of Beta Ray by including a switch-out head, chestplate, and Stormbreaker instead of Mjolnir. But Beta Ray is too technically different I guess

The shade of his arms, his boots, even his pants... it'll have to be a whole new piece. Question is if enough people know the character for him to justify the PF treatment. Just look what happened to Black Panther

And I would wager that Black Panther is a much more well known character than Bill. I also didn't see Sideshow jumping onto various Iron Man characters beyond the man himself and War Machine when those films were released. I don't think the movie is going to sway them much in terms of giving us a character like this.

Well I can't honestly saw with Sideshow that I don't feel it's a matter of how well known a character is before they make it. Look at Venomasaurus, a lot of people were like "what is this from?" Same with Darth Talon, a lot of the posts on that thread were along the lines of "Damn she's hot, ORDERED...who is she again?"

I feel like if it's done right, and looks good, they will have a hit on their hands, but it's all just wishful thinking I suppose.

It will happen. But I see no problem in owning both SS and BD versions if your a fan of the character. I'd personally prefer an Odin.

Darth Talon has caused me to trust SS's judgement in what deserves the PF treatment. Darth Maul came from prettymuch nowhere to become one of the most recognizable figures in the star wars universe. Why? because in universe of very unique characters, darth maul was arguably the most unique one out there. Two-bladed saber, tattoos, blood-red skin, the first true sith in cinema... he was godlike .

Darth Talon did a Darth Maul all over again. A Lethan Twi'lek (red skin made her ultra rare for her species), a unique saber with that organic-type hilt, tattoos, skimpy attire (rare for both sith and jedi). And she was Sith. Like Maul.

Yes, she wasn't well-known; but if there was any one character in the star wars universe that could be snatched from "obscurity" and made a smash-hit in PF, it probably was Talon. SS capitalized; I'd like to think it wasn't pure chance, but that they did their homework...

The question we need to ask is if Beta Ray could have the same effect, the same reception, if he's made into a $300 PF today. Is he unique enough to have that instant wow factor? Bowen's Beta Ray evoked some very mixed responses if I recall. I remember a few peeps here calling him "Thor with a horse head" (paraphrased)

Personally I'll buy a Sideshow Beta Ray PF in a heartbeart if he's done right; but how many others will? My mind keeps going back to Black Panther... for sheer presence, few sideshow pieces beat him, period. Yet he wasn't well-recieved. Most of the freaks think he's cool; but that they don't know him well enough to bite

yeh man..collect both if you love the character I love silver surfer and Nova, so I have the SS comiquette and the bowen SS chrome and Modern Nova...waiting on sideshow to produce a Nova....with light up features I hope haha
