I quit smoking cigs 1.5 years ago. But i'd sure love to puff on some premo bacco once in a while.

Any advice for a noob cigar starter? What's a good brand to start with?

If you gave up cigs, I wouldn't start smoking cigars. I'd be afraid of just replacing one bad habit with another.

I too am a noob to the habbit, but I do enjoy a nice one when people have em at a party or whatever, love to know some quality kind so I can pick em up and contribute.

Not worried. And i don't see a once in a while Cigar a bad habit, They're for relaxing and kickin back.

i kinda agree with this. even though they aren't the same and you really don't inhale a cigar. it is still a bad habit and i'd just stay smoke free if i were you.

Cigar smoking was the one habit I never kicked. I only smoke Clean Robusto by Drew Estates Natural label. It was the one I always kept coming back to, so I just stuck with it.

I'm pretty sure Bodie does, but he removes the middle portion for something else... :monkey1

Tell me more, how often do you indulge? how much are those? would they be ok to start with?

I usually only smoke once or twice a month now. They would be a perfect smoke to start with. It's actually the only smoke that my wife doesn't mind being around. It uses a sumatra wrapper which is a little milder and the smoke is clean and crisp that leaves a very subtle sweet finish. If you get one in the store expect to pay about $7 for one. A box will run you anywhere from $89-$120.

edit: Here's a link I pulled up just so you know what they look like if you're interested. Never bought from this place, it was just the first link that popped up.

Java by Drew Estate. Don't start with the Maduros, though... go for a Latte.

Right now I have some Cohibas in the house. Of course I like Cuban when ever I get the chance; there is just something about their soil that makes it great.

i occasionally smoke "backwoods" black label cigars. they are hand rolled and look just like the name but are damn good IMHO. cold beer & a cigar is :woo

I just got back from the smoke shop and he gave me a gispert i asked for a starting cigar. Gonna fire it up later on tonight.
