I want to set up some Led's that light up sequentially ?

Im guessing Ill need some type of circuit board in the circuit ?

Im based in the UK and wondered if Maplins carried anything like this ?

I admit I havent checked the site yet but wondered if anyone had any experiences trying to set it up ?

Id like to have it so it flickers (ie damaged) but I also have another project that I want to use it for that lights up like a runway etc ?

Any help would be appreciated

Thx

Jase,

Electronics and Network engineering is what I do for my real job. What are you trying to do and I can help :)

Thanks,
Ryan

Ive laid 4 wires into the inner course of this dio left to right

I was going to have some broken mechanical machinery flickering with L.e.d.'s on the walls near the damaged areas

I was thinking maybe 6 Led's - 4 on one wall 2 on the other, one will be a pump of some kind pipes coming out, oil coming out of that:

The other will be a power switch, haven't finalized that in my mind tbh maybe something like this but more modern looking in aluminum :

Im not fairing well with soldering so if I'm able to avoid that and twist wires together the better :)

Any help you can give me Ryan is appreciated

Ive just started to line the inside base area of the wall will aluminum sheets so I can hide a board behind those if necassary

Ive also got an area for encasing batteries so if you could recommend some Id appreciate that too

Thx

Jase

EDIT: Thinking about it maybe 6 Led's is too much, less is more afterall so maybe - 3 or 4 :)

1 Green - 1 Red - 1 White on the pump and 1 red on the power switch on the wall

Ryan is it possible to configure a circuit so that it has a switch to turn it from intermittent to constant ? a little update (looks like I may have to do some soldering after all as Im unsure how Im gonna fasten those 2 grills in place) This is the window slotted and screwed together, Im gonna take it apart and bond it then weather it:

If you're looking for a chaser circuit, have you tried using a Schmitt Trigger and Decade counter circuit like these one:

https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_6/chpt_7/7.html
https://www.ehow.com/how_5515694_make-led-sequencer-circuit.html

But instead of the ten segment LED bargraph you can use individual LEDs. If not then these might be useful:

https://www.qsl.net/yo5ofh/hobby circuits/led_circuits.htm

BTW, the fading red LEDs would look good in a dying Terminator custom. I'm not sure about UK stores anymore but there used to be Bitsbox and ____ Smith Electronics which sold electronics kits and components. Otherwise, you'll have to make friends with one of the many UK HAM operators.

Mike thx for the reply, two of my best m8's are sparks (electrician slang) and I guess if I show them this stuff they will be able to boil it down for me if not lend a hand :)

Thx

Another update, Im not too sure about my choice of bolt heads will have to ponder their use:

Cat,

I will send you some info of stuff you can use when I get to my officein the morning.

Thanks,
Ryan

Ok thx Ryan

It also occurred to me that its a pain opening the cupboard up to place my hand on a switch (posed figures in the way etc), whats the degree of difficulty go up too . . . if I considered looking at a remote control to operate the switch?

I want to go battery powered for the lights as I dont really want to get a mains cord limiting were the thing can be placed ?
Theres an area to the back along the wall for storing batteries (all depends on the size of the batteries I guess and how many)

Went to Maplins today to pick up some more switches and led's

Using some 3 volt superbright red led's Ive created some warning lights, havent found anything to go over them atm . . may leave bare to match the T700 factories, Ive picked up this and im gonna have to read all the instructions :( to figure it out. Also a redress of my soldering skills I guess . . its basically a metronome and you can adjust the timings, so thats my flashing red warning lights

Also picked up some orange and green led's to create a panel on the pumping equipment.

I think 4 flat 3v lithium batteries and 2 switches, which Im hoping to incorporate in the pumping panel, and encase the batteries inside the pumps casing in holders. Screwing a cover panel in place on the outside.

Asked about a transmitter, receiver control for remotely switching the thing off and on, but the guys at Maplins (one useless the other very helpful) showed me what they had and from what we could surmise they all required 240v supplies.

Plus they all needed some type of construction and casings for the transmitter

I was hoping for a ready made key fob and made up circuit board to wire in :(

But so far Ive not found anything

Been able to make some elements, the alarm lights Im thinking could take a cap maybe of grill / gauze over the light itself (havent constructed the metronome for the flashing effect)

Also intend to add some type of guages and some more switches to the control pump

i've no idea what you're doing and i'm less than no help but it certainly looks interesting. good luck!

another few updates decided to use this panel as a power supply to drive a chained hook and pulley system, the motors not 'motorized' the chain is simply fixed and hangs down

Girder beam across the top now (added strength to the dio) and Ive attached a chain hook system to the beam which can be pulled across the beam, heres the front

heres the back of it :

Something versatile enough to be able to display my Terminator and my Ironman, GI Joe, figures if so required, Ive got elements to dress the outside, but atm the elements are more geared towards Terminator stuff, Im thinking that the outside elements can be sectional so I can hot swap them as required

A commercial facade with a factory element inside essentially

Once its built Ill probably build the hotswap sections for the outside, so I can weather everything together, gear oil, explosive scorch marks, paint, rain etc
