That is the hotel that the explosion occured in... it is the new Hilton, but wasn't set to open until December.

Good thing though that the Hilton wasn't supposed to be open until December. Can you imagine if it was set to open before SDCC and they had to turn people away!!!

No ^^^^ it is. I had 3 possible hook-ups all fall through... and now I have to scramble at the worst possible time.

I'd hate to have to use one of my "Get Out Of Jail Free" cards with one of the studios for this, but I might have no choice.

Well, crap. I saw "Hilton" and I just made the connection to the Hilton Gaslamp. Had no idea that there was yet another Hilton being put up at San Diego....in the same approximate area.

They are indeed some of the friendliest Homeless I've encountered.

There are plenty of hotels in the surrounding areas. You'll just have to get a rental car. Try the La Mesa area, Spring Valley, El Cajon, Rancho San Diego, etc. All these areas are within 20-25 minutes of the Convention Center
