Understand. The primary hotel being built had the actual 'spolsion; but it also damaged the Hilton next too it....

Paragraphs 6 & 7:

"The Hilton hotel near the San Diego Convention Center showed serious damage and debris littered a driveway beneath one corner of the structure. Facade material dangled from the structure, drapes dangled out windows and a large equipment room with tanks and pipes was left exposed.

The blast damaged floors four through seven, Mayor Jerry Sanders said."

That is the hotel that the explosion occured in... it is the new Hilton, but wasn't set to open until December.

That's the one behind the convention center - there aren't any other hotels near it.

Good thing I'm staying at the Mariot :lol

Good thing though that the Hilton wasn't supposed to be open until December. Can you imagine if it was set to open before SDCC and they had to turn people away!!!

A little late in the game to NOT have something set up no?

No ^^^^ it is. I had 3 possible hook-ups all fall through... and now I have to scramble at the worst possible time. :banghead

I'd hate to have to use one of my "Get Out Of Jail Free" cards with one of the studios for this, but I might have no choice. :monkey2

Well, crap. I saw "Hilton" and I just made the connection to the Hilton Gaslamp. Had no idea that there was yet another Hilton being put up at San Diego....in the same approximate area.

Sorry folks for being a Chicken Little.

And Irish...my sincere apologies. :(

With the way they have been building lately, a "Skid-row Hilton" would not be a surprise! :)

There are plenty of hotels in the surrounding areas. You'll just have to get a rental car. Try the La Mesa area, Spring Valley, El Cajon, Rancho San Diego, etc. All these areas are within 20-25 minutes of the Convention Center
