I love horror movies, but the classic remake (conumdrum) John Carpenter's the Thing has almost no merchandising, Come on now.....I need a life size replica Spiderhead.

I agree, and hopefully with the new Movie coming out, more interest in collectibles will come forth. And to add a new dimension to the collectible - how bout a remote control Spider Head, or a PF of MacReady, with a thing/dog base.

jc's the thing is one of the best horror movies ever made. one of my all time favs. way before film makers relied so heavy cgi. i think a few things were made a time back but for anyone to revisit this now is a pipe dream. you would probably have to commission something or make it yourself. a macready bash in 1/6th is not out of the realm of possibility. i made one im quite happy with & i have the skills of a one eyed monkey, so it cant be that hard to do.

Only if it's the "see no evil" one-eyed monkey to Van Goh's "hear no evil" one-eared painter.

the thing is actually my favourite horror too. i'd definitely get a 1/6 macready. i wish i had the one seb did, it's pretty much unbeatable. but i agree with evil, not sure how far a line would go. maybe some of the different stop-motion monsters from throughout the movie would be cool in statue form. with regards to existing stuff, mcfarlane had a couple figures out in their movie maniacs line i think. that's probably it.

what's this about a remake? that's a horrible idea. it'll probably be like that ____ty whiteout movie, but with stupid CGI aliens.

It's not quite a remake, but a prequel based on the Norwegian camp when the thing first was cut out of the Ice. Could be interesting but I hope there is NO CGI, and they go back to basics like the original Rob Bottin creations.

I didn't know that! That's cool. ....Now I actually want to see it.

Its my fav horror movie too. Human heads walking on spider legs will always have a special place in my heart.

You could sign me up for some sort of McReady collectible, but after him and one or two different versions of The Thing I'm not sure who else I'd want from the line. I don't think I'll be rushing out to get those Richard Dysart and Willford Brimley premium formats.

I'd buy every figure from THE THING. Best SciFI Horror film ever to date.

Ohh :yess: THE THING, at least Top-20 classic movie.

Even played a very good (same kind of horror vibe) pc-game from it..

I'd like a MacReady figure, but I don't think a "line" would sell well.
Does it look like Kurt Russel?

I loved this movie ,we went to see it in the theater back in like 1983 or something... For some reason 30 days of night reminded me of it a lot I wonder if the filming location was the same set?
