i initially wasnt interested but for the price i dont think these are bad at all. i decided to try to get the whole line. the very last figure, german disguise indy is the hard one to find but i was able to get a colonel dovchenko off ebay and just recently was able to purchase that other rare 12 inch mutt with the leather jacket and crystal skull (the only mutt figure worth getting of the 2). waiting for that one to come in. they also made what looks like a very cool 12 inch scale Ark which i plan on getting as well. plus, they made practically all the artifacts from the films. the ark, the fertility idol, the crystal skull, and you could easily use the sankara stone and holy grail from the "artifacts" that came with the action figures for the 12 inch figures. so its a pretty well rounded little line of pretty decent quality indy figures.

The only one I have is the German Indy, and he's pretty decent looking, especially for the price I paid for him: $12. I'm also considering getting the Cairo Swordsman. I just can't see myself spending $90 for such secondary characters from Sideshow, if they were to ever make something like it.

wow, if you'd ever be willing to sell your hasbro german indy, let me know!

but yeah, i have only paid big money for TDK hot toys figs. but beyond that, i cant see me spending loads on 12 inch figures unless i downright loved it enough. but so far ive been able to get mostly everything for indy in stores. i got both indiana jones', the cairo whipping version and the talking version, the cairo swordsman, the german officer, and just recently colnol dovchenko. im waiting for the "accurate" 12" mutt williams i got off ebay, the one with the leather jacket and skull, and hope to one day find that german indy. then im done basically.

also, something that caught my eye:

whats with the indy sombrero?

I have them all, save German Indy and jacketed Mutt. I'll pick them up if the time and price is right. The thing I like about these is that for $20, they're figures you can play with and not have to worry about things breaking like accessories, pegs, joints, etc. They're Indy and they're fun. Plus, if you collected the 3 3/4" line, those little crates were loaded with 1:6 (and some almost 1:6) goodies! :D

I have yet to see any good close up pics of the German Indy. Maybe you can post some?
I'm really curious as to how the head sculpt came out and if the loose hat from Talking Indy would fit German Indy's head.
The likeness was soooooo far off on Talking Indy, but Whipping Indy was decent.

Cairo Swordsman is a pretty nice figure, especially since he went on Clearance at some stores. I was able to pick one up for about $10.

Totally agree with everything you said. Exactly how I feel. The clearance sales on the 3 3/4 Indy stuff has made it easier on the wallet to collect all those artifacts.
A lot of fun!

I'd put Dovchenko in that category as well.

Why didnt they TOD figures? I definatly would have bought that one I havent bought any other Hasbro 12 inch Indy's that one looks like it couldve been the best especially in likeness

Because unfortunately, Hasbro whored out Indy to young kids who had no idea of who he was via Wal-Mart, Target, TRU, etc... That only really left, collectors who passed on the KOTCS stuff and didn't feel the need to buy 50 figures of the over saturated Raiders pieces, putting the nail in the coffin for Hasbro to produce any mass runs of anything TOD, completely axing any further figures from the 12" line.

good point....I still wouldve like that figure though

As would I. I just don't get the ADD in what they released for the 12" figures. It's like they used two dartboards to pick who would be released; one for character and one for movie. :lol

yea haha Mutt! RAIDERS INDY! CAIRO! MUTT WITH JACKET....really? only one mutt is necessary
