It's strange. I tried to log onto IMDB early this morning and Embarq kept giving me the "page recommendations" they do when the browser can't find a site. I just went online a few minutes ago and tried the site and now I get a dead link white screen. Anyone know what's up?

Clear your browser cache...

Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at www.imdb.com.

I keep getting that message. I am in NC too. Could I ask what address you are using to access (their website, not your info) and who is your Internet provider?

Anyone else having trouble accessing it? All my other sites/links work fine.

Im in Greensboro.
TimeWarner Biz Class service.
Safari browser... on a Mac

I can click on your link above and go right to it... if must be your ISP blocking it or something. Try doing a Google search for a movie and clicking the link to see if you can go to an internal page and if so, then try the main page again...

Try and see if this works?

https://72.21.211.32/

If you can get to it by IP its most likely not blocked as any filter worth anything would block by IP as well as by name. I would maybe think its a DNS issue, that your provider does not have the it in there DNS server for some odd reason.

If you cant get to it by the IP I would say its blocked.

That's weird. I can get to it by the IP above, but it's still a dead-link through the named address.

I wonder. I have been having trouble logging on to Freaks forums the last few days. Every now and then, the site will hang or take 4 or 5 minutes to load a topic. Also, occasionally the buttons don't work (i.e. I click on Submit Reply and it doesn't work but if I reload the page a few times it will). These are the only 2 pages I have had trouble with. Could it be connected to the IMDB problem?

Forgot to mention, this is my home PC, not work.

Could be it seems like a DNS issue. I am going to assume you using a Windows XP or Vista Machine, if not this may not work.

Open a command prompt, should be under accessories under start menu.

Then type nslookup and hit enter
then type www.imdb.com
it should return a handful of address if not there is your answer.

In the last few days the Freak board has changed IP addresses - so that would explain what the difference is, anyway. But it should be loading much faster - not slower.
