been down for about a week. but i'm trying to track overseas. anyone have a problem with usps domestic tracking?

I've tried to use it many times, only works 10% of the time for me. Sometimes not even until it has already arrived.

It's not like the system is that great to begin with. All it does is say it was accepted when it is shipped and that it has arrived when it gets there. No progress like ups or fedex.

when you ship usps overseas, you get 'acceptance at post office, receiving at the customs before leaving country, arriving at country of destination, leaving customs and delivered'. i always shipped priority mail overseas and never realized you could track with priority. maybe since they changed the format to go either express mail international or priority mail international?

The times that I have shipped overseas via USPS, the tracking number has never worked before delivery. Only the day after the package has been delivered does the tracking number finally start to work online.

I've never shipped or recieved anything from overseas via USPS, but whenever I've used the tracking domestically I've had the same problem where there is no tracking until after it has been delivered.

to my knowledge the only way you get tracking progress is overnight/express, the others just show delivery...on a consistant basis anyway.

a couple weeks ago i asked the post office to ship a package with a tracking # like ive done a dozen times before. well the old man working there had a fit because i called it a tracking number and "the post office doesnt use tracking numbers". they only have "delivery confirmation". seriously the guy was a total douche about it. i know they dont have real time tracking numbers but its still called tracking on the website when you look it up. what a tool. anyways, carry on with your discussion here.:wave

I know it's frustrating--the buyers I am shipping to typically get a little impatient and contact me asking why the package hasn't been shipped yet, and I have to explain that it was shipped days ago, the tracking number just isn't working.

I shipped something domestically this week, and Delivery Confirmation was working fine. :huh

It changed. You couldn't track it before when it was air parcel. You can even track first class now with those green customs forms.

back and working. gave updates every step of the way to the u.k. as a matter of fact, they attempted delivery and the seller wasn't home. very cool updates. now for one shipped to turkey. sent it may 21 and still no updates since it left the country. probably held up in customs. :( :banghead
