Just got my Madame Hydra comiquette & noticed it was shipped wiith a standard brown box? I also heard that the Savage She-Hulk was the same.

Can SSC confirm if they are changing the format of the boxes? I personally like the old shipper box because the art box fits snuggly inside it? The regular brown boxes are a little bigger then the art box.

This has now increase the storage space because the boxes are now bigger. Space is a premium & I think that every inch counts to store these boxes. I hope this is only a temporary thing with SSC.

That will be really sucks, it's hard to find after you display the statue, it will be a pain if they are all like that.

Sideshow just can't win.

People complained about their old shipping boxes not providing enough protection because they were so tight again the art box.

Now people are going to complain because it is a plain/bigger shipping box that can provide more space to protect their art boxes if packed properly?

:dunno

I've rarely have anything damaged in the original shipper boxes. It's not like the new way is absorbing any impact when they use paper to cover the space.

Did we need a thread about this?

Yes!!! Smaller boxes = more space. :lecture Obviously some of u guys aren't statue collectors but 12" figure collectors? You guys wouldn't know what hit u until u have over 70+ boxes of 1/4 to 1/5 scale SSC statues stored in your house.

I collect everything from 1:18, to 1:1 busts (that includes PFs, Dios, etc) and have a garage that's 2/3rds full, floor to ceiling, dedicated to collectible boxes. I look at it as one of the drawbacks of the hobby. People _____ed about the smaller boxes not providing any leeway for damage with a single ding in the shipper damaging the art box (which actually makes sense with how picky the secondary market buyers are). Now Sideshow finally updates the shippers and there's a thread _____ing about the bigger boxes, which are only marginally bigger I might add, asking them to go back to the smaller boxes. Bottom line, if you're running out of space, start tossing the boxes, sell some ____ and make some space or get a storage locker for $75 a month to store all your boxes. It's just one of the drawbacks of being a collector. :huh

^^Marginally bigger? The Madame hydra generic box adds 25% more in terms of size. That means if I buy 4 Hydra box size, it adds 1 additional box. That adds up really quick.

99% of people do not throw boxes out. It's like throwing money out. IMO, there was never anything wrong with the old way they were shipping there statues.

Well, your opinion's in the minute minority. The change has been made. It's for the better.

They are doing it to cut costs, standard boxes instead of getting the text printed on each one.

Yah it's not like the prices aren't raised already with these statues? 10-15% increase in price already. They need to stop being cheap if that is the case.

Cut costs?

It's a shipping box. All it needs is a place to put the shipping lable, nothing else.

Instead of having to get specific sized boxes for their statues they can just get certain sized boxes that would be able to hold most of their items. They can just stuff strong paper to secure the color boxes. No more having to ink boxes and don't have to worry about making custom sized boxes for their products.

How much are they actually saving? It's ludicrous if that's what they are doing? If u factor they now have to pay someone to package the statue into a generic box, it's simply wouldn't be close affective? Theres no real savings at all. :dunno

It might be beneficial. I've had a couple of times where art box was damaged due to puncture to the shipper. If they provide more cushion and package with enough packing material, it'll probably prevent damage. I'm cool with that.
