I decided to get my orders using flexpay since I want to pay for as much of it as soon as possible. I know there's some sort of cancellation penalty. But any other drawbacks? We still get them shipped at the same time, right?

The only real downside I've exprienced besides the cancelation fee's are dependant on how much you order. If you order alot they can bottle up a bit and you can find yourself with more then one at a time. Paying for 3 flex pays in one week can be worse then paying full price for one when its due.

Also sometimes there Free Shipping for the item, but if I recall Flex Play users always have to pay shipping. Depending on the item that could be another twenty dollars or so.

click the flexpay button on the figure you want, there should be a category on the right of the webpage reading FLEXPay Details. This should give you the dates and amounts due, and the deadline for the flexpay order for that particular item.

Is that true? I never used Flexpay & likely never will if that's the case. :pfft:

That's not true, that dude is smoking something. I flexed the Captain America figure and it's still free domestic shipping with it. There would be no justification to not give free shipping just because they flexed. They still ship at the same time.

Oh good to know thank you.

Please note the restrictions: Free U.S. Shipping promotions cannot be used on flex pay items (since the final payment will be after of the promotion’s end date), unless otherwise stated on a products page, or wait list fulfillment orders. This promotion cannot be combined with promotional gift cards, Rewards, site discounts, gift certificates, coupons, etc. Any discounts applied to free shipping items will be removed prior to processing, regardless of whether the site allowed you to apply multiple discounts. As per the rules of the Rewards and Gift Card programs, any of these discounts that are removed are voided and cannot be reinstated. Please make sure you are choosing your items carefully and applying your discounts properly!

I once had three preorders come in stock on the same day a couple of years ago, It was almost $425 worth of stuff. I ended up having to cancel part of the order because I wasn't prepared for three items to come out at the same day. It was all stuff I had ordered six to nine months previously. Since my wife and I run a business out of our home we experience kind of a feast or famine situation so its impossible to tell where are money is going to be that far off in the future. We hope it will be great but we can't be sure. Money is always coming in it's just that it can come in all at once or take a bit of time. To avoid a day like that, I only buy from places I can pay the balance on the item up front when I preorder. With Corner Store Comics if you pay with Paypal you pay the balance when you pre-order, but if you use a credit or debit card you aren't charged until you get the item. Whether you flex pay or preorder with a debit or credit card you are at the mercy of release schedules that can shift unexpectedly sometimes placing things you ordered close together when you didn't expect it to months ago.
I prefer to just get it paid for when I order it and be done. If something happened like losing a card and having to get it replaced, its one less thing to worry about if your stuff is already paid for. Then when something does come out it doesn't worry you if it is released earlier or later than you expected. Also, Sideshow will accept money orders to pay the entire balance of an item, as long as you get it to them before they start processing orders.

Ooh, may have to look into corner store comics then. But wait... For all my preorders that are now flexpay, many of the last payments end in the same month, but not day. Would Sideshow ship all their items on the same day or as soon as they can?

we only use flex pay and the only major downsides are (for us international customers):
- nothing if you pre-order it
- if waitlisted: non-flexers waitlist will be fulfilled before those of the flexers
- if waitlisted and after initial release: lower chance on available replacements

hope it helps :)
