Not with people I give two s **ts about, but yeh, during some meetings I'll read and respond to texts

Nope. Don't do any of that. I only use my phone (which is old AND crappy) to make *gasp* phone calls.
I have probably sent a total of 5 text messages over the last year to people, so this isn't an issue for me. Annoys me when I'm in a meeting at the office and my various co-workers are all texting away when they should be paying attention to the damn meeting. But I guess we've gotten to the point where it's no longer considered disrespectful. I'm sure all those e-mails were of critical importance and couldn't wait 30 minutes to be addressed or whatever.

And I think my phone could have some basic internet capabilities, but I'm not 100% sure. . .

I hardly use the phone to make calls. I hate talking on the phone. I text and people text me.

But for the question, no. Unless I'm with the wife then I fiddle with the phone. And she does too!!

Same as me. I'll only call someone if I really have to

Nope. If my phone goes off, I'll check it when I can but never when I'm with other people, etc. At home I only check it if I get a text or call.

If my work hands me a phone and expects me to read and respond to texts and emails in my so-called 'down time', I'm going to do the same during a meeting. Especially the kinds of meetings I have to sit through. It cuts both ways in this day and age I think.

I don't talk to people unless they text me, so no.

It does, however, bother me when people try to speak to me while I'm on my phone. Just plain rude.

I pretty much just use my phone for calls and music.

Over here i constantly see people on their phones.

They'd be walking across a road looking at their phone.
Pushing a buggy looking at their phone.
At the gym looking at their phone.
Eating dinner looking at their phone.
Ect...

Just today i saw a young couple with a little girl on the bus, both were on their phone and my first thought was how the girl is gonna grow up so fast and they're missing because they're addicted to their phones.

I go to clubs or bars and people are sitting at tables looking at their phones. Stupid!

I never check my phone when I'm talking to someone, but I text people all the time. And when I'm not texting, I'm taking pics or videos.

that's the case for me pretty much. I never check my phone if I am speaking to someone or doing something important.

I mean, a text message can wait. no need to be rude to the person you're talking with.

Sometimes I answer texts hours after I get them. (Unless it was about something i needed to answer right away, but that never happens)
