I was playing Mass Effect for my third time when I hear a pop, and the tv will not start up. Its a DLP, so it has a 150 watt lamp that you have to replace....took it out, and sure enough it blew!!!

Not bad though! It lasted 3.5 years, but I gotta go 5 days or so without tv.....:horror

My god, I gotta read a book or something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Least I still have the 'Net and all of you!!!!!

It was so funny too - was thinking that the pic seemed a tad too dark and 'pop'

:D

They are still 200$ a pop?? DLP is the biggest pile of ^^^^.

I paid 3 dimes 5 years ago for one and my bulb burnt on supersbowl Sunday two years later. I lost it on Toshiba, got a new one for free

What kind do you have?

that's why I got rid of a DLP projector, damn bulb was nearly as expensive as the projector initially cost. .

Figured it would be about $100, so I was a little disappointed it was that much...

Before tax $189 via Best Buy

Toshiba wanted $200 plus before tax and shipping...

Yeah, I just realized my 32" LCD has Shadows. I bought a 3 year warranty with the purchase of the Tv. Turns out my warranty ends in June. So I called up Sears and they sent someone out the other day. The repair guy said they would have to either replace the whole inside panel, give me credit for a new Tv, or just giving me a new one. But he said it would take a few days for them to make that decision. I should get a call in the next day or so.

My only question was if I was going to get the same Tv or a newer model since I'm sure they don't make the one I have anymore? Also, he said something about them maybe giving me credit for the dammaged Tv and letting me keep it, that I'm not too sure about?

Time for a LCD homey!

Those are real nice. DLPs are the 'poor mans' HD....and to date, its been pretty great, overall

Also, he said something about them maybe giving me credit for the dammaged Tv and letting me keep it, that I'm not too sure about?

It make take them more time/money to return.....same reason SS wants people to destroy a PF rather than return in some cases...only thing that comes to mind

I actually found my DLP bulb via Electrified.com for $125.......just cancelled my Best Buy order that came out to $231 shipped....Under $150 is a lot easier to swallow!

Yeah currently I still have DLP. I want that LCD baaaaad though, but collectibles take priority.

If it goes again Ill replace mine with an LCD, 5 years ago a 52 LCD was like 7000$...
