Arrow Removal for Compound Bows I sold.
** Many people who have purchased the 1/6 compound
bows from me have asked for a step by step on how I remove the permanent
arrows and make them usable. All you really need to do this is; a dremel
tool and your hands. I use some clips to hold things sometimes, but only
because I was taking pictures for you and needed a free hand.
So here it is with lots of pictures....(can't fit them all, had to delete some)
Step 1-B: Locate and position the arrow head housing unit like this. You should
be able to see the 4 arrow heads and how they sit.
Step 1-D : Turn it on it side, now in order to remove the arrows safely, we have to take some
of the pressure off the tips by bending the bow like this. The bow is a softer
plastic, so it won't break if you bend it slowly.
Step 1-F, 1-G, 1-H: Grab hold of an arrow and gently pull the tip out.
Once you remove the first few arrows, rinse and repeat
until all the arrows are out...lol
Step 1-I, 1-J, 1-k: Now that we have all the arrow heads out, locate the arrow shaft
connector towards the other end of the bow. Grab the hard plastic part,
wiggle back and forth and pull up and it will come apart easily(it's made to snap on and off).
Now that we have the unit off, we can cut the arrows out
of the hard plastic that they are fuse to(see markings)
Step 2-B, 2-C: use your Dremel or other cutting hand tool to seperate each arrow.
Step 2-D, 2-E, 2-F, 2-G: Once all the arrows are seperated, take one at a time, using the flat side of the cutting wheel, spin and shape the excess plastic off the arrow shafts until happy with the outcome. Rinse and repeat until all arrows are finished.
That pretty much does it, let me know if you have anymore questions.
Of course, if you want to remove the Arrow Head Housing unit off the bow as
well(most people do), then just take your dremel or other hand cutting tool,
cut the housing unit off and grind smooth the remaining part off the bow.
I found that is best to take off last. Because that doesn't snap back on, so
once you take it off, it's not going to go back on. Plus if you take it off first,
you might break off the arrow heads inside the housing unit, then you're screwed, trust me, I know .
I hope this helps.
